A very warm welcome by the very polite front staff -- checked-in easily and she ensure that we are well informed on all the facilities in the hotel. Its a bummer that I couldn't recall her name, as I would love to express my appreciation for her kindness that made day.Breakfast was decent. The free flow alcohol during the happy hour in the evening came as a surprise to me; a very nice touch for patrons.Clean and has all the basic needs. Good for a quick stay. Pajamas is provided as well.

It was the smallest room we had during 2 weeks in Japan. Also beds the least comfortable and the bunk bed above us was sooooo squeaky it was difficult to sleep during night.Public onsen not great either in compare to other hotels.Big plus is breakfast served in the morning and included in price already. Nice selection of Japanese and Western style food.Another plus - free toiletries for women. Big selection.

The front staff is very kind and attentive. As foreigner, I found no problem communicating in English at all. Free welcome drink bar and free breakfast is excellent. The car park building is right next to the hotel, though the access may be a bit hard for wheelchair users. The room is quite spacious. Free extra pillow is nice, though the default one is too hard for me. Tap water is drinkable and there is a humidifier inside the room too.I wish there are two separate hot spring onzens for men and women instead of scheduled bathing hours.

having "onsen" in the name of the hotel is essentially false advertising because it is not an onsen hotel, even if they happen to have some natural hot spring water in the bath. first of all, they only have 1 bath so they rotate between men's and women's times. normally if a business hotel has a public bath, i'll check if this is the case because i don't like the limited times, but since the hotel name had 'onsen' in it, i of course assumed they had separate baths for men and women so that the time would not be limited. also the bath is very small and the locker area is even smaller. you can't really blow dry your hair or anything in there. it's not an onsen hotel at all, just a regular business hotel that happens to have one small bath with hot spring water in it. they should change their branding. and you have to get your locker key at the front desk (i guess to limit crowding in the bath since it is so small yet probably many customers want to use it given the branding) but the first night the staff gave the keys to lockers in a straight vertical line, so even though there were only 3 people, we were all on top of each other and it was hard to get to our lockers... they should be mindful of this and stager the locker assignments so this doesn't happen.. also, they don't have a fitted sheet or tuck the sheet under the mattress, just a futon and sheet on top of the mattress, which is gross. and the air freshener spray was definitely just cleaning alcohol and not an air-freshener at all. also the walls are very thin and you can hear every movement your neighbor makes and anyone in the hall. the code system to the door is annoying but all Super Hotels do that.

A great place to stay! Staff were so helpful (especially Akeda at reception). Free alcoholic/soft drinks in the evening, great spa/Onsen with mineral bath (and free products when using at night for women), very good breakfast, clean and welcoming hotel. Rooms are small, but that is to be expected in Japan and have everything you need. Great price also. Would highly recommend this accomodation to travellers wanting an authentic Japanese experience. Matsumoto Castle is worth a visit and Kamikochi was the highlight of our Japan trip and easy to get to from Matsumoto.

The rooms are TINY. Best for a one night stay but not longer. Breakfast buffet is okay. They do give you pillow options which is very nice.
