There are insects. The building is also old. Only the sound of the river and the train. It's fine if you don't need any services. There is a hot spring waterfall in front of the inn. This is proof of the continuous source.I can't go out at night.

2024/10/11-2024/10/12, one night stay without meals. First stay. Walk from Hiraiwa Station. We were given advance permission to arrive after check-in time. There were no street lights from the station, so I walked in pitch darkness, feeling anxious. The sky is full of stars. However, it didn't show up in the photo with my camera. disappointing. At the reception, I was shown a container made from a plastic bottle and tongs, and was instructed to use this to remove stink bugs. Fortunately, I didn't see it.We bathed in the hot springs fed directly from the source both at night and in the morning. The hot water itself didn't have the hot spring smell that I expected, but it was at a suitable temperature. The open-air bath looked like it would be more suitable for an open-air bath, but the bottom is slippery with moss and is extremely dangerous. And it's shallow, so it's only a footbath. The building made me feel like I had traveled back in time to the Showa era, and I wondered if such an old inn was still standing in the middle of the Showa era, not the late Showa era. I was able to use the four-person room by myself and feel relaxed. The people at the hostel were simple. I asked Damemoto if he could make salt rice ball the next morning with the leftover rice, but he refused, saying, ``If I don't cook it, there won't be any rice.'' I was wondering if they didn't cook rice in the morning even though there were other customers.Although it was an early morning departure, it was bright, so I was able to walk to the station with peace of mind.Pay in cash at check-in. If it was during normal hours, it seems like you could have paid by credit card.

Thank you for your help the other day, at the end of the rainy season. It was a perfect location for leaving Nagasaki and entering the Northern Alps from the Itoigawa City side. The clean bath with running water and the hearty home-cooked food made me feel like I was back in the Showa era for the first time in a while. If you go in winter, the hot springs will feel even more pleasant. I believe this is a family run business, so please stay healthy and continue to operate the business for many years to come.

Himekawa Onsen suffered from large-scale flood damage in 1995, and it took about three years to rebuild. During that time, I suddenly became lonely, and the change in the style of traveling in groups made it even worse. When it comes to hotels of this size, the building is left unused and there is no way to raise the cost to renovate it, so the only option is to let it fall into disrepair. However, you can feel that they are trying their best to provide hospitality, and the food is delicious and warm. The hot springs are also 100% free flowing from the source. The open-air bath is now a secret hot spring in the open air. That's what the bad reviews say. I didn't notice any musty smell, but there were stink bugs lying all over the hallway. There is a quirk in customer service, but it is a simple one. The building has been left unused and there is not enough time to maintain it, giving it a faint feeling of ruin, but efforts have been made to install heated toilet seats in some of the toilets. If you imagine a hotel or inn in a typical hot spring area, it won't work. Let's imagine a secret hot spring spa. If you do that, you should be able to enjoy the attraction as time has stopped in the Showa era.I always stay at accommodations in this price range, and every time I see bad reviews, I think that with the recent high prices, it is wrong to expect the full service of an inn or hotel at an accommodation that costs around 10,000 yen. For those people, please spend another 5,000 yen.Traveling alone or with a friend who is an experienced traveler is more suitable than traveling with family. Because it is located on a slope, the entrance is on the third floor, the guest rooms are on the fourth floor, the toilet is on the landing, and the bath is on the first floor. There is no elevator and it is not barrier-free, so people with weak legs cannot stay here.It was a memorable stay. The inn we stayed at the previous day was also a good one, but if you ask me if it was memorable, it didn't have the same impact. All my memories were taken with me. You will be very satisfied with this hot spring and food at this price.

This was my first time staying at this hotel on a snowboarding trip, and my honest opinion was that it was such a bad inn that I wondered why it hadn't closed. First of all, when I arrived, the exterior of the inn was so old that I doubted whether it was still open or not, but the woman at the reception was so creepy...I thought I was in a haunted house. When I entered the room, the futon was already laid out (arrival time was around 4pm), and it was very dirty as I could see at a glance, and it smelled of musty and dust, so I guess it had been left there for several years. The futon was unhygienic, and the room itself had mysterious stains, dead stink bugs, actively moving stink bugs, ladybugs, and spider webs, making me wonder why I had chosen this inn. I felt helpless and had no choice but to blame. There was a toilet near the room, but it was prohibited to use, so I felt very inconvenienced that I had to go down the stairs in a long hallway. Of course, the toilet here was also full of dead insects and spider webs, and I felt that it wasn't cleaned properly no matter where I looked. She tried to go to a hot spring to try and regain her feelings, but was shocked when she saw the bath towel in the room. Mysterious stains dotted the bath towel, which was supposed to be pure white, and it also had a musty, or rather dusty, smell, so today I was prepared to have no choice but to be surrounded by this smell whether I took a bath or climbed into my futon. . If you imagine what the hot springs will look like 20 years from now on the official website, you won't be disappointed. Regarding the open-air bath, I couldn't enter the women's bath because there was no electricity, so I can't even write a review. As for the meal, I had given up all my expectations for this inn before eating it, so I was relieved that the rice was freshly cooked, and I think the quality and quantity of the food was not bad. There's no end to this, so I'll end here, but I've been to many different inns, but this is the first time I've ever been to one that was so unsanitary and scary in so many ways.
