This time, the pension in Hakuba where I was supposed to stay was too dirty💦In a hurry, I called and was able to stay overnight🙏As other people have said, I'm impressed by the hostess's attentiveness 😂The open-air bath was also very clean and deep enough for children to bathe safely, which was helpful.Thank you for being so warm towards my children. If I ever go to Hakuba againI definitely want to stay ✨

I came here on my own on a whim while in Japan because I wanted to go snowboarding. Despite my English being sub par the staff were amazing at helping me out with everything I needed.I stayed in the traditional Japanese room. My room had nice views. And was very comfortable for what I was looking for. The onsen was extremely relaxing and one of the highlights of my trip.I had their breakfast every morning and absolutely loved it! I ended up extending my stay an extra day because of how much I liked the hotel.I plan to come back next time I'm in Japan. Big thank you to the staff, I can't wait to come back!

Cozy mountain lodge that will make you feel at home!LOCATIONEasy access to everything you need for a ski vacation. The hotel is near the base of Happo One, which has more advanced terrain, and even though it’s a short walk the hotel also offers shuttle service. For less confident riders, there is a free shuttle stop one block away for Hakuba Goryu (30 minute drive). Short walk to the Happo bus terminal, which connects to the shinkansen station in Nagano. There are many great restaurants, bars, and ski rental shops within walking distance.ROOMSComfortable and spacious Japanese style futon rooms. Great value for the price.AMENITIESThe huge onsen is perfect after a day on the slopes. Offers an indoor hot bath, outdoor hot bath with mountain views, shower and sauna. Clean, spacious and very relaxing. My tattoos were not an issue, unlike most onsens in Japan. The breakfast is excellent. It’s a mix of Japanese breakfast (fish, rice, soup, pickles) and western (eggs, sausage, French toast, cereal, juice, coffee and fruit). Very hearty and filling, and everything tastes homemade and fresh. The hotel has a storage/drying room for equipment, and a coin washer/dryer. The lobby has tea and snacks for free all day. It’s a nice little touch that makes it feel more like a home than just a hotel.SERVICEThis is where the hotel really shines. The hotel staff are so warm and friendly you will feel like part of the family. On the day we left, the front desk staff laid our shoes out for us and walked us out to the street, waving goodbye. They are so sweet, it felt like family taking us to our first day of school!Recommend this hotel so highly, would stay again anytime I am in the area.

We loved our stay here and hope to come back! The staff is so friendly and it’s hard not to smile whenever you see them; they exude such joy. Even though there is a bit of a language barrier, it was easy to make breakfast reservations and figure out the ski shuttle just by pointing.HOTEL: The hotel itself is super clean and cozy. My favorite part was the indoor/outdoor onsen upstairs, which were beautiful and made you feel like you were in a spa every night. Note that the onsen is separated by gender. The rooms were also quite spacious and traditional looking.LOCATION: The hotel is right next to Happo One and is walking distance (5 min) to a Lawson’s, snowboard rental shop, and a bunch of bars and restaurants. We ended up going to Hakuba Goryu and to get there, we walked 5 min to take the town’s free ski shuttle. So easy!To get to the hotel, we took a bus from Nagano Station to the Hakuba Happo bus station. The bus station we got off at was only a 5 min walk to Bergtour Marukita so it was super convenient.FOOD: We had breakfast and for about $15 USD, you get a traditional Japanese breakfast with salmon, eggs, sausage, fries, and pickles, plus a buffet of pastries and pancakes. It was really yummy!

The accomodation was in an ideal location close to local restaurants, Happo one ski resort and Hakuba bus station. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast which varied each day of our stay. The open air Onsen was a perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes. Staff were amazing and especially the lady at reception who made us feel special and at home. We will be back!
