Absolutely loved the experience with Happokan. It's a homely ryokan stay and I thought it provided great valueRoom:Tatami style room that came with a great view, was clean, spacious and could easily fit 2 large luggages. Furnishing and toilet might seem a bit aged but it was spotless.Service:Incredible! Warm and hospitable. The owners were so down to earth and welcoming and we appreciated our chats with them. Gave us a souvenir when we left and even contacted us to mail a scarf back to us because we left it behind. Really kind people!Food:Food is always subjective, but I thought it was very and provided fantastic value. They change up the food every day and even track the guest's meals so that they can avoid giving you a repeat! There's also locker rooms to keep ski equipment. Parking is generally easy around the ryokan. 5mins walk to the nearest lawson. Please give them a try if you're considering!

I couldn’t want for more service care and assistance. Throughout our stay, nothing was a problem. After my partner injured herself, Super Ladies Noriko and Hisako stepped their care up another level. Great breakfast and assistance with the massive challenges of booking restaurants in Hakuba. Thanks again

We stayed in a 2 person Japanese style tatami room with a great mountain view of Happo One slopes. Room is spacious and clean with a mini fridge, wardrobe with hangers, bath robes, small dry rack, raised futons, aircon, dimmable remote controlled light. Although there js a good shower in the room, I loved to go down to Basement level to bathe in the shared onsen which operates 24/7 and is never busy.Short walk to the bus terminal and Lawson convenience store. Short walk to free shuttle bus stops to Happo One or Goryu/Hakuba 47 ski lifts. We booked a Breakfast package and thank god we did. Every morning there is grilled/marinaded fish, ginger and pickles, rice with seasoning, miso soup, seaweed, plus eggs served a different way everyday (scrambled, fried, omelette) with some ham or sausage and marinaded vegetable. Self serve Toast and cereal available. Coffee and tea on refill. I am curious to know what delicious food they serve for dinner!Best of all was the service. It seems to be run entirely by two ladies, who will go above and beyond to make sure you are served and greeted at every turn. Thank you for your top level hospitality.

I highly recommend this hotel. It feels like home here. There are no shortcomings. The hotel's front desk staff was super friendly and very helpful. She could communicate in English. We didn't book a restaurant on the first or second day of our stay. She was also very enthusiastic to help us call us to see which restaurant had seats available that day. Yes. They will also help you book a table at the restaurant you want to go to. The hotel also has dinner reservations with them. When you are tired from skiing, you can go downstairs and have dinner. We booked dinner for two nights respectively. One day was Sukiyaki and the other day was Shabu Shabu. The dishes were very rich. In addition, this hotel also has hot springs and foot massagers, which are very suitable for guests who are tired after skiing. When we checked in, we happened to encounter the weekend fireworks show at Happo One Snow Resort. You can watch the fireworks show directly from the room window, which is a big advantage. The room is very warm, using a Daikin air conditioner. The hotel also sells discounted lift tickets for Happo One and Goryong 47. I will definitely come back next time I come to Hakuba.

A great location with convenient transportation. There are many shops around, including shoe stores and ski rental shops. The decoration is warm and the service is great. Many small things show attentiveness, such as free washing powder, cheap laundry fees, and free massage machines. You can speak English and there are many European and American tourists. The meal was great! Especially dinner! No dishes were repeated for 8 consecutive nights, every dish was super delicious😋, and the chef’s superb and creative cuisine is amazing!
