The location is a few minutes away from the cable car station. There are also some souvenir shops nearby where you can buy some drinks. The place where we stay in front of Hakumayake. The boss's aunt's English is enough for normal communication (but don't expect too much). She is very attentive and friendly. The food was not good. The dumplings, sashimi and tomato soup were all good. I can only say that the portions were too heavy, so I may not have eaten enough.

Real Japanese experience, no facade! Yoriko is an amazing person! Light years ahead in making you feel like "one of the family". Kitchen without words! There are no restaurants on its level. Highly recommended!!!Yoriko in the heart

A great place to stay when skiing Tsugaike and the surrounding Hakuba valley. Each day there was a different delicious dinner and breakfast which included a lot of pickled and preserved home grown produce. To me it seemed a fairly authentic ryokan experience with some rustic charm.

This inn is located at the origin of ski resort development. This is a village that started when the previous owner relocated a demolished elementary school into a field. Currently, the proprietress is running the restaurant by herself, so the number of customers is limited. It seems that they will also be happy to help you with accommodations for your dog. The breakfast was delicious, with homemade side dishes and a light touch. Although it is a ski house from the Showa era, it was really comfortable. The proprietress also created hand-woven tapestries and stained glass throughout, adding to the artistic feel. Next time, I would like to visit with my dog.

This is a traditional hostel in Tsugaike, i went there during March 2023.the grandma there will take care of you, she is very nice and polite, she even gave me a ride to bus stop when i leave with my belongings.Room is clean and tidy, room size is big in japan.Hardware is relatively poor since it is already an old hostel,no intelligent hardware, limited availability of shower, but there is still indoor small onsen which is not bad at all.Even though it has disadvantage, yet you will feel the Japan tradition in this place with its reasonable price. In terms of location, it is not bad, just 5-10 mins to tugaike by walking during winter time, restuarant and main street is near.If you are looking for basics, reasonable price and japan style room, this will be a nice choice for you.

The landlady was very kind and the accommodation price was reasonable and very nice. The gondola boarding area of Tsugaike Ski Resort is also nearby and can be reached on foot. There was a hot spring facility behind the inn, and we were able to take a bath at a discounted price. If you don't have a requirement to stay at a hotel or luxury inn, we highly recommend it.
