I stayed in the west wing. After looking at the photos and reviews, I decided to try out a hotel like this and made a reservation. The atmosphere is different between the east and west buildings. The west building is super retro classic. Everything from the furniture to the curtains and other fabrics to the furnishings are super antique. You can experience the extraordinary feeling of staying in an old British mansion. The inside of the hotel smells like old furniture, and it's definitely dusty (lol), so I think different people have different tastes. Recommended for people who like that kind of worldview. However, it may be a pain for people who usually stay at high-class major hotels. This is my personal opinion, so I apologize to anyone who was offended.

I stayed for one night on a family trip in the summer of 2024.I am writing this down because I felt very uncomfortable. It's all true. The English review is at the end..1. Syringes and dirty towels found in guest rooms in the west wing2. The entrance is open 24 hours and is non-secure.3. Anyone can come to the door of the room where you are sleeping.4. Leave the ice water in the glass pod in the lobby until the next morning.5. Free drink glasses are full of dust6. There is a gap where a giant Kamadouma can enter the guest room.7. There is a mysterious room that is not used in the maisonette8. There are red and black stains on the carpet.9. Even though the east building parking lot is empty, I am forced to park in the narrow driveway of the west building.Don't you feel sick just reading the above? What surprised me the most was the syringe. It was found behind an old air conditioner. Whether it's medical or drug, it's horror at some point in the cabin. There was no security, and anyone could come and go as they wanted, so I guess there were lots of cheerful people partying every night. Those who have rated this hotel as wonderful are happy because they stayed there without knowing this fact. If you accidentally touch something with your bare hands and contract an infection, it could end your life, not just your trip. There is also a hidden room in the maisonette that cannot be accessed by stairs. If you are concerned, please look carefully at the ceiling. There is a pitch-black room that looks like an attic (Grenier?), and you'll definitely be worried that someone might be there.Although the west building (main building) is not that far away from the east building across the road, there is a reception in the east building, so I parked my car there for check-in, and after that, I parked my car at the east building, which was originally intended to be used as a porch. You can park in a narrow space. A black minivan was parked next to the entrance. The atmosphere of the Western-style building is completely destroyed. The west building is not managed or monitored anyway. Both malicious people and birds of prey can enter. I thought it would be suitable for people who want to spend a quiet time without being disturbed by anyone, but I didn't know where it had gotten into the room, but there was a large grasshopper (a pest that looks like a grasshopper with long hind legs) jumping around. . If you are afraid of insects, please do not stay here. Kamadouma looks and moves disgusting. I smashed it up, but as mentioned above, it was unhygienic cleaning, so it's probably still lying around somewhere in the guest room.In addition to syringes, dirty towels were also found behind the old air conditioner. As a service, there is an unmanned free drink space in the West Building lobby. There was ice water in a glass pod and it was cold in the evening, but the ice had already melted by night and I didn't feel like drinking it because I wouldn't know if someone had mixed something into it. The glass is also blown with a fuzzy cloth, and there is some dust on the inside, so we recommend wiping it yourself before use. There are no complaints about the bathtub or toilet. However, the water pressure in the shower was weak like in Europe, and even with the hot water and water levers fully open, the shower did not have enough water. For better or worse, the west building is an old Western-style building, and the restaurant that would have been open until the east building was built is also closed, which adds to the eeriness. Considering the poor security and service, it can no longer be called a hotel. It is not a condominium or a cottage, but is treated as an "annex to the east building." Even though I say ``a detached house'', it is not a modern detached house. It is nothing but a building that exists only to supplement the capacity of the East Building. In fact, when I mentioned the syringe issue to the manager, I received a very unpleasant suggestion. The east building has a jacuzzi and is wonderful, so I would like people to come and stay at the east building. It's a rough analogy, but if you tell the restaurant that there was a foreign substance in the restaurant and they tell you that there is no foreign substance in the main restaurant and you want them to come, are there any customers who would accept such a suggestion? The poor quality of all the services is due to the manager's uncivil and misguided thinking and the arrogance that has been praised for the East Building's focus on French cuisine. The manager himself has acknowledged the disparity between the east and west buildings. The reason why the East Building looks so good is because it is a quasi-Western-style building. Those who understand will understand.I have no intention of eating French in Hakuba. It is said that eating game cuisine at Auberge in Chino is a better way to enjoy the delicious flavors of Shinshu.Regarding security, you should at least prepare a guest card and take measures to prevent anyone other than guests from entering. Amazon also sells products that allow you to add a magnetic card lock to a regular door. That's arrogance. I wouldn't stay there again, and I can't recommend it.I stayed here for one night on a family trip in the summer of 2024.I had a very unpleasant experience, so I'm writing this. It's all true.1. I found a syringe and dirty towels in the West Wing guest room.2. The entrance is non-secure and open 24 hours a day.3. Anyone can come to the door of the room you're sleeping in.4. There is a gap that a giant cockroach can use to get into the guest room.7. There is a mysterious room that is not used in the maisonette.8. Dark red stains on the carpet9. The East Wing parking lot is empty, but we were forced to park in the narrow porch of the West BuildingDoesn't just read the above make you feel sick? The thing that surprised me the most was the "syringe." It was lying behind an old air conditioning unit. Whether it was for medical use or drugs, it's horrifying to have it in a guest room. There is no security and anyone is free to enter and exit, so I wonder if cheerful people were partying every night? We stayed at the hotel back in March 2024. The breakfast and service in general were amazing. They were very kind even though we caused so much trouble for them (I booked wrong number of people, asked them to call taxi and cancelled, forgetting my passport at the room). Just know that the convenience store is far away and there's not many dinner options nearby. So make sure to stop by if you're not having dinner at the hotel!! (The shuttle driver kindly asked us if we wanna go to the convenience store but we didn't go then, and we waited forever for a taxi... eventually we decided to walk aaall the way 🥲)

Really lovely hotel, spacious rooms, very clean and well maintained and in a good location. Main reception across the road at the other Hotel La Neige, so did have to head over there with any questions. Loved the Italian restaurant downstairs.
