Muyōko-in Temple was founded in the Heian period, and every corner of the temple has traces of thousands of years of history. It is simple and quiet, especially the garden here is very pleasant. Shufang provides one bed and two meals. The room is clean and spacious. Because the building is old and the sound insulation is weak, you need to keep your conversation quiet at night. Shojin ryori is delicious. There are morning classes here in the morning, and the Goma (fire offering) allows people to feel the solemnity of the ceremony. The monks in the temple are friendly and can always solve your problems in the temple. If you want to say goodbye to the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect choice.

Kind, generous and learned hosts showed us some of their lives as Buddhist monks in the historic and beautiful town of Koyasan. We especially enjoyed witnessing the morning prayer ritual and the delicious dinner selection

Truly an amazing experience. Me and my partner felt thoroughly welcomed by the monks here. The food prepared for us was unparalleled, and probably the best vegan meal we've eaten in Japan so far. The morning ceremony was very special, and one of the monks kindly took time to explain to us that they prayed for our families and our ancestors, which was extremely moving. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do it!

I was moved as if I was watching a stage performance in the morning, with the Goma-taki, the sutra ritual, and the Chukyoku? Apparently. After that, we were served tea and coffee, and then we had breakfast, which was delicious ♪ Since we had arranged it at the lodging center the evening before, we couldn't have dinner, so breakfast alone was 15,000 yen, and if it included two meals, it was 20,000 yen. .It was good.
