This is an old-fashioned guesthouse. Very convenient as close to train station. The host Ken is very friendly and speaks English very well. The host allows our group to leave our luggage while we hike kumano kodo as it was low season. The guesthouse has a unique airwell.

Although it is a retro Showa-era inn, it is kept well-maintained. It was 6 tatami mats, 3500 yen per person.I went by bike, and parking is free. It felt like it could accommodate 6-7 cars. There was a piano in the lobby, so I asked if I could play it.

I used it as a place to stay without meals when I participated as a sports event staff member. A convenience store is nearby. It was almost like staying at my grandmother's house. It's a long-established inn, so although the sliding doors, tatami mats, and furniture were old, it was very comfortable to sleep in. Although there were many dents in the walls and floor in some places, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff was accommodating. The bath was hot spring-like, and I was really grateful that the bath was already boiling when I arrived at the inn, as the second day of my stay was a cold and rainy day due to an event. The temperature is hot, which is helpful for this season. If I hadn't had this bath, I would probably have been in bed with a cold or fever. I understand why it is loved. thank you very much.

I stayed here for a night before setting out on the Kumano Kodo. The host is very welcoming and speaks excellent English- he also gave me some recommendations on where to eat dinner. The room was spacious, but because it was facing the road it was a little noisy and I was woken up a few times during the night by cars rushing by.There is a communal shower/bath area that you can lock to have your privacy.I had a room with a Japanese toilet, but there is a western toilet available on the property too.Breakfast was of a good quality and was ready at the time I gave the host.
