Dormitory is a bit of a misnomer as the configuration means you have your own room. The owner/host was charming, friendly, professional and helped suggest a place for supper (Ci.na.mon) which turned out to be just perfect. Kowloon is right next to the port and ferry terminal I was expecting it to be noisy, the exact opposite was the case. We slept well, traditional tatami, futon and duvet. Shared facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. No problem leaving our bags at checkout and picking them up later when taking the ferry back to Uno. All in all a fantastic stay. Thanks.

Very cheap at 7,500 yen for 2 people per nightConveniently located near the ferry terminalI arrived around 9:30 AM and the room was ready. It was a relief to be able to leave my luggage behind and go out.You can only communicate with the staff by phone.(Currently located at Seven Beach, which is part of the same chain)Keep your keys in their own case during checkoutIt's comfortable and hassle-free because you just put it in.There are 3 rooms with a shower room andThere are two toilets and no butting.I thought it was goodIn a room with art-like colorsI felt excited after arriving on Naoshima from the first day.

Nice, cozy place near the port of Miya-no-ura. Comfortable beds, clean toilet and shower. Guests can use the kitchen, which has a kettle, toaster and microwave.

Neat accommodation. Cute tableware and a shared kitchen. There is an ice maker so you don't have to buy ice separately. If you sleep in a typical tatami room with the heating on, it will be very dry, so it is a good idea to use a humidifier or dry wet laundry before sleeping. The wooden floor makes a little creaky noise, but it doesn't interfere with your daily life. However, there was a faint, unidentifiable smell in the room. Other than that, it was clean and the location in front of the port made it very convenient and nice.

It was difficult to ask detailed questions because the staff was not always on site, but the rooms, bathrooms, and toilets were clean and it was very comfortable. Also, the location was easy to find and it was easy to access the artworks.

Decent bed in a decent location but pretty dirty and run down common room and kitchen.I honestly dont know how this has gotten such good reviews. The common area is pretty horrible to be in. Poorly ventilated and just dirty. Very rundown feeling. Nothing was offered for free, no coffee or tea or any kind of amenities. Smoking is also allowed in the common room, adding to the general stink of the room.Bedrooms are much better, quite open and clean. Showers and toilets are fine if a bit small.I saw the staff literally once to check in, after that didn't see any staff for the whole time I was there (two nights). Not sure if this is because of the current situation, but would have been nice if someone was around.Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere a bit nicer. If you arrive at Miyanoura port, it's no problem to get a bus over to the other side and perhaps more preferable dorm rooms. Busses run frequently and only 100 yen.
