The very famous Wangmei B&B (I don’t think it can be called a hotel, more like a slightly larger Airbnb). The main selling point should be the all-white building. Basically, you can see Mount Fuji from the balcony of every room. It takes about 10-12 minutes to walk from Kawaguchiko Station. The road along the way is relatively gentle, so it is not a big problem to walk with a large suitcase. The accommodation fee for one night is nearly NT$10,000. Apart from the view, there is nothing special about it. The room still requires a key to open the door. The facilities are quite old. The sheets and mattresses feel like they have been used for a long time. The bathroom is very small and there is almost no way to do it. Separate wet and dry, and be very careful not to wet the floor. The inside of the room is all white like the exterior. The biggest advantage is that it has a lot of space and can store several large suitcases flat without any problem! The hotel does not serve breakfast, but it does provide vending machines and washing machines. The room also has a complete set of pots, pans, tableware, etc. There is also a menu in the room for ordering delivery.

Anyone who likes a backpacker atmosphere combined with the hotel prices of a Waldorf Astoria will definitely find what they are looking for in this hotel. Unfortunately it wasn't us. At around 1.85 m, the beds are too short for slightly taller people (I'm 1.80 m). The shower curtain constantly sticks to your body when showering and anyone looking for a place to hang towels will definitely be disappointed. There simply aren't any!!! Unfortunately, there is no table on the balcony (for breakfast) on the first floor. And if you think you can get directly to the parking lot from the lower rooms, you'll be surprised, because you first have to go up to be able to go down the steep ramp. But if you think you can take nice photos of the sunrise or sunset, you'll find that a bunch of high-voltage power lines more than limit your view. In my opinion, this was by far the worst price-performance ratio for a hotel in Japan for our vacation in 2024. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the hotel in any way.

We are really very disappointed with this hotel. We expected much more for the high price. We got a small, youth hostel-like room in a now worn-out hotel. Here is the summary:LOCATION: Very good, but easier to reach by car than on foot. View of Mount Fuji is nice, but there are power cables hanging in front of it.FEATURES AND OVERALL QUALITY:The house looks very modern and high quality in the pictures. It is also modern, but it may have once been high quality. Now it is worn in many places and poorly painted (white walls get dirty quicker). Corners on walls are partially broken off. The weather has also left its mark on the outside (cracks in the concrete wall, dirt).Overall very noisy. I heard people in the hallway in the evening and the drinks machine in front of our room was also audible all night long.No information material about the region.Bicycles are available to rent, but we didn't use them. Unfortunately, they appeared to be of poor quality. We have already seen higher quality bikes in other, cheaper hotels.CLEANLINESS: OK, but nothing more.PARKING: The parking lot is below, is large enough and free. There is no passage to the house so you can get to your room with your suitcases easily and effortlessly. You always have to walk up the mountain and should park at the top to unload. There is an elevator in the house.ROOMS: Worn and small. Some corners on the walls have broken off.Furniture very simple and poor quality. For the price I expect more. The beds are therefore very simple and, in our opinion, shorter than 2m. Sheets keep riding up. Bedding very simple and wrinkled. The bathroom is small and impractical, in short a disaster. There are no facilities to hang towels. We then had to use a tumble dryer.Rather simple shower head, no rain shower. Overall, the shower fittings were very poorly cleaned or overlooked with limescale stains.A shower would have been better and would have taken up less space.Toilet control comes loose and has been fixed with tape. There is no table to put your suitcases on.Cupboard doors no longer close properly. No pajamas offered like all other Japanese hotels, just toothbrushes and slippers. No razor either.Towels are small and very thin. It's okay that no breakfast is offered and we knew that, but the fact that we also had to get tea and coffee from the machine is unacceptable given the price. There is also no normal high table where we could eat properly.STAFF: Communication via email was flawless and super fast. The gentleman at check-in was also friendly, but not overly nice. He booked us a table in the restaurant and quickly organized a toaster. But very little was explained to us. So I had to ask for directions to the room. Overall, no one is permanently on site. But check-in is possible at any time.CONCLUSION: We will not stay here again. The high price is not appropriate for the quality. We felt like we were in a simple youth hostel and for such a high price.Better book somewhere else.

Except that the location of the hotel is not easy to find, everything else is great! The scenery is great. The person downstairs thinks there are no instructions for the parking lot. Just ask and the service staff will definitely tell you.

The guy at the counter has a very bad attitude! I have never seen anyone check in like this! ! There are no signs in the parking lot, and it’s not easy to carry luggage! ! The road is narrow! ! There are much better options for this price! Of course the scenery outside the window is not very good either! A stay that will ruin your mood!
