Very high quality hotel which however has the drawback of being aging. The onsen is quality, the service efficient and eager to listen and help.

This was my second time using the campsite. The scenery is amazing and the facilities are clean.A bonfire along the lakeside with a view of Mt. Fuji is the best! This is a hidden campsite recommended for those who want to enjoy a quiet camping experience. You can also use the hotel's bath, and there are few open-air baths with such a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from the lakeside. You can see Mt. Fuji through the glass from the sauna room. The owner and staff are also very kind. Thank you for your help. Happy birthday to the owner.

Wow what a place! Both my friend and I stayed here for only 1 night (wishing it was more) and everything from the views of the hotel, the staff who were super friendly and even the owner Kobayashi who greeted us and thanked us himself was …

We chose the Shoji Lake Hotel because of:- the impressive view of Mount Fuji- the possibility of traditional Japanese accommodation- the location of the most undeveloped of the Fuji lakes- the most natural view of Mount Fuji- and accessibility by public transportWe stayed for one night and were greeted with truly impressive friendliness. I've never experienced anything like that! The owner greeted us personally and naturally took pictures of us with Mount Fuji. Of course he knew what we wanted as tourists, but it was also quite suitable, so that was great :). There was also a welcome drink and our bags were brought to our room. I had read several times in old reviews that the hotel and rooms were getting old. I can imagine that at some points, but I also had the impression that the criticism fell on open ears. In our room we found a brand new renovated bathroom that looked really nice. The room climate was also great and there were no smells of older furnishings, carpets or anything similar. I actually only noticed this in one place in the hotel hallway (in front of the room, not inside). So nothing I would complain about. My girlfriend took the opportunity to try out the onsen (hot pools). She was very excited! While I completely respect the gender segregation based on nudity, I would have also liked a mixed-gender area where swimwear was worn. This would have opened up the possibility of swimming together with your partner. We didn't have any catering in the hotel itself, but there is a restaurant about 100 meters away where you can eat at a good price. This opens from 11, so in addition to dinner the day before (last order @ 5 p.m.), a warm Japanese breakfast was possible.I can fully recommend staying at the Shoji Lake Hotel!

First visit! This time we used the campsite. It was great to be able to see the appearance of Mt. Fuji that changes depending on the time of day.Activities such as fishing, canoeing, and SUP are also held on the lake, which looks like fun.Next time I would like to use the hotel as well.

It's an old school hotel, like mid 2000's old, but the view is beautiful. You get a very clean and renovated outdoor Onsen area. The owner and the staff are really proactiv and will try to make you as confortable as possible.Great hotel for a night or a short stay.No elevator, but staff will carry your luggage to your room.

This is my second repeat! This time, I rented a bicycle with my son and rode around Lake Shoji. The weather was perfect and it was a great cycling experience! This time as well, all the staff were very kind and allowed us to take pictures with Mt. Fuji in the background, making it a great memory for our family every time.According to the owner, the autumn leaves season will be the best time to see them, so I would like to visit with my family again at that time!
