There are shuttle buses from both Otsuki Station and Kawaguchiko Station, which can be booked online in advance (required), and it was great to be able to enjoy the area around Lake Kawaguchi either on foot or by renting a bicycle from the hotel. The breakfast was also very delicious with freshly baked bread.I would like to reuse it again.

The room was fine. Good aircon and bathroom. Bed was softer than our last hotel. Breakfast was ok, not much choice and a little busy, but ok. Good location near the lake and plenty of restaurants in the area. Free shuttle bus service to the station.

Compact, clean and neat room with a great shower, fridge, gowns and nice toiletries. We had a brilliant view of Fuji from the room, despite the windows being reinforced with wire (I assume for safety). There were a few places to eat nearby (we had amazing dumplings and bao in Yamaboushi, just 8 mins walk away, sat on the upstairs terrace looking at Fuji). The lake is a ten min walk away and the park is lovely and peaceful. We also walked up to the viewpoint (where the cable car goes), which took under an hour and was a lovely quiet route through the trees. There were a couple of supermarkets close by and a microwave and seating area available to eat your own food if you fancy a night in. Breakfast was a bit basic. ‘Western’ on one side (inc rolls, soups, yoghurt, hot dog sausages, tuna and croissants)… ‘Asian’ on the other (inc rice, curry, spinach, eggs - beware the sweet Japanese omelette! - tomatoes and pickles). You could try the foods in either area though, which made things interesting! Overall, this was a great stop as part of our Japan trip.

Very good value for $60 a night (single). The hotel is new, very clean, and in the middle of the town (if there is such a thing). The included breakfast (Japanese or Japanese-western buffet) is good, although feels quite hectic because there’s a lot of people in a comparatively small room. The room is a bit bigger than Apa with a bigger bathroom. I tried asking (at check in time) for a view (of the lake or Fuji) but was told there were no views, which was a bit weird because the hotel is tall, but maybe they just don’t want to change the computer allocation of room numbers (?) Good car parking and you can walk to the lake or restaurants/convenience stores. There isn’t really a Main Street as such.

☆This is the first time I've been to a hotel that I didn't want to stay at. I arrived an hour earlier than check-in time, so I waited in the lobby. When I asked if there was a service that would allow me to check in early for a fee, I was told that if I became a member of the hotel, I could be shown to my room at 3pm for free. After that, I looked it up online and found out that it was possible to check in early for 1000 yen, so I asked another staff member and was able to get into the room. It was a huge waste of time waiting in the lobby. There are many unreliable staff. If you are staying multiple nights, you will be asked to pack up all your luggage and bring it to the lobby the next morning for cleaning.Since this was my first time at a hotel like that, I checked with another staff member and was told that I could leave my luggage as is even if cleaning was required. thing. Guests should be able to decide what to do about cleaning for consecutive nights, but the staff are all clueless. The air conditioner filter was so covered with dust that I didn't feel like putting it on. The cleaning staff didn't smile or say hello when we passed each other, which was very different from other major business hotels. I was surprised that there was no air purifier in the room these days, but I was even more shocked that there was no baggage rack. It was inconvenient. The only good thing was that there was a free shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station.
