[If walking to Kita Onsen]Get off at Daimaru Onsen and transfer at the bus stop you can see on the opposite side. However, since the bus that went to Nasu Ropeway will be returning, the waiting time will be about 30 minutes, so I do not recommend it for a long time. The bus stop, Kitayu Entrance, is all the way downhill, so it takes about a 5 minute walk to get there.(Rindo Chaya, the only shop in the area, sells souvenirs but may not serve meals. Daimaruenchi Observation Deck offers a beautiful view of Mt. Chausu, so we recommend it. )The journey from the Kitayu entrance to the Komadome Falls Kita Onsen parking lot is difficult and takes about 30 minutes, but the return trip is easy. I was surprised to see so many people walking by.Komadome Waterfall It takes about 5 minutes from the Kita Onsen parking lot to the Kita Onsen Ryokan, but it's a gentle slope, although it's written in many places such as steep slopes. Please take your time. The key is to take a photo or write down the bus timetable at the Kitayu Iriguchi bus stop, and count backwards the arrival time at Kita-Onsen to ensure a safe return trip. Bus searches for transfer information are unreliable due to slight discrepancies in timetables.【others】・The Benten Suspension Bridge walking path is currently closed to traffic due to deterioration.・It is also possible to exit from the Komadome Falls parking lot through Nasu Heisei no Mori (closed on Wednesdays) to the Yawata Onsen bus stop.・It seems that you can get to the Shiratogawa bus stop from the Nasu Nature Research Road Shiratogawa Line near the parking lot, but fallen trees around the Shiratogawa River seem to be getting in the way.[Impressions of Kita Onsen]I stopped by Kita Onsen, the filming location of the movie Thermae Romae, for 700 yen. Even though it was lunch time on a Saturday during the off-season for tourism, I was surprised to see so many customers coming without asking me to leave.Due to the coronavirus pandemic, half-board accommodation plans are no longer available, so although I find buildings from the Edo and Meiji eras appealing, I am hesitant to stay there. (Currently, it costs 1,000 yen to pre-order a bento, or you can bring your own or cook it yourself.)It would be nice to be able to enjoy the abundant amount of hot spring water flowing directly from the source (with water added) while watching the Tengu illuminated by lamplight.Kawahara no Yu where you can feel the power of nature is also the best. The hot spring pool is so warm that I hesitate to try it unless it's in the middle of summer when it's really hot. I was stunned to see only one father soaking in the water on the way home.Tengu's hot water was too lukewarm, and Kawahara's hot water was too hot. It was the opposite of what other people have described. Is it not possible to enter the hot spring pool due to cleaning on Wednesday? I can't believe it fills up in about 2 hours. At Komadome's waterfall viewing platform, I thought it wouldn't be a big deal since the waterfall was so far away, but the scenery and the sound of the waterfall exceeded my expectations. When the leaves turn bright, the mountain surface becomes vividly colored, and I would like to spend a leisurely night in a snow-viewing bath during the autumn leaves season and when snowfall is expected.I didn't stay there, so I'm giving it all 3 stars.[Hope]①Revival of half-meal plan② Set up a 3-hour limited time for men at Me-no-Yu and a 3-hour time for Tengu-no-Yu for women.③Paid trial transportation to the north bath entranceI think the number of guests will double.

Day-trip hot springs are purchased from a ticket vending machine. It may be famous for Thermae, but the lady at the reception is arrogant. The outdoor bath is dirty! Indoor baths are still betterThe inn itself is filthy! If you are going to take a day trip or stay overnight, it is better to go somewhere else.I have nothing bad to say, I recommend going somewhere else.

400 meters walk from the parking lot. It was a hot spring that I wanted to visit while I could still walk. I like flowing water straight from the source.

A female receptionist was power harassing a male receptionist while training him. When I handed him the ticket from the ticket vending machine, thinking it was a bad idea, he rudely told me to leave it there. Does he become a Tengu because he became famous for Thermaeromae?I don't want to use it again.

2024.09.15Accommodation (self-catering plan) Matsu no Ma (area from the Edo period)It was 6900 yen/person per night for 3 friends sharing one room. There is no air conditioner in the room, but the temperature is 19℃.It was cool enough with the windows open. When you open the window, you can see the bright green of the autumn leaves in front of you.The inside of the building is like a labyrinth, which is also a bit fun.Even though I cooked for myself, I was provided with a bento box (3 types of salmon, ginger-grilled, and fried chicken for 950 yen each (tax included)) upon request, which was a relief.I also added a lunch box. Heat in the microwave for 7 minutes. And there are plenty of shops. I was also able to buy sake and sake ate.As for the bath, Tengu no Yu is the best. Because the changing room is exposed in the mixed bathIt is very difficult for women to bathe without clothes. The changing rooms are separated by rail curtains, so if you bring your own bath clothes, you might be able to try your hand at it.Behind it is a cascading bath and a family bath (this one has a changing room inside the door), which are only available to guests. Utaseyu is very hot.Other options include Kawahara no Yu (separate open-air baths for men and women), overlooking the waterfall.Ainoyu and Mantennoyu (hot spring pools). After getting a little chilly in the hot spring pool, warm your body up in the hot water next to it.The temperature of the hot spring pool is not that cold. Swimsuit required. In addition, there is Me no Yu, which is exclusively for women. And this is out of mobile phone range. However, there is no problem as there is free Wi-Fi. A perfect inn for those who want to enjoy hot springs and a retro atmosphere. The self-catering area has a variety of tableware, and you can freely use the stove and microwave. I made curry udon. Usage hours are until 9pm.One thing to be concerned about is the 400m walk from the parking lot. You can also enjoy a little hiking.Good point・Excellent quality spring water flowing directly from the source- Fully equipped self-catering area, tableware provided, gas available (free)・Even if you don't have food, there are plenty of bento boxes and shops (alcohol and snacks)・Excited about building a maze-like building・There is a friendly cat・WiFi is available even outside of mobile phone range・Smiles from the reception staffPoints to note・Be careful as the hot water is very hot.The area around the utaseyu is slippery.・There is no air conditioning in Edo (Matsu no Ma) (What about summer? What about winter?)・Swimwear is required to enter the hot spring pool・400m walk from the parking lot to the innIt's hard when you forget something in the car.・TV is available for 100 yen in Matsu no Ma.・Tengu-no-yu is a high hurdle for women if they don't wear bathing clothes. The changing room can be partitioned off with a curtain.・Not drinkable2022.08.05700 yen for a day trip. 8:30-16:30Simple spring ph6.3 53.6℃The amount of hot water is 400 liters per minute, which is very abundant.Don't underestimate it just because it's a simple spring. The water will be slightly brownish and warm. The water temperature is too high, so we add water to bring it to just the right temperature. There are three hot spring baths: an open-air bath called Kawara-no-Yu, Tengu-no-Yu, and Aino-Yu.I was not able to do Thermae Eromae because I was required to wear a swimsuit in the swimming bath. After all, Tengu no Yu is the best. The open feeling and the abundance of hot water are the best. The road to the parking lot is a safe paved road. The inn is about 400 meters down the mountain from the parking lot.Located in the middle of the Nasu Highlands, it feels like a secret hot spring.

Beautiful spot, decent onsen and a rustic old building. However… while the younger staff were patient and polite, the older staff were gruff, and rude.Won’t be coming here again.

I didn't check the reviews and found out later that it was a Thelma erotic filming location. There was an open air that I remember seeing. The sturdy structure of black wood has the dignity of having withstood many years of wind and rain. It also has the appearance of a mountain hut at the entrance to Chausu. Customers' opinions seem to be divided, depending on their values: whether they respect it as a precious historic asset, or view it negatively as it is old and lacks comfortable facilities.I think the cost of 700 yen for a day trip + 100 yen for a locker for valuables (charged without return) was reasonable. The Tengu hot water was a little hot and felt good, depending on how much water was added. I could feel the smell of sulfur along the way, so I expected it to be a little more cloudy or smell like sulfur, but although it felt nice on the skin, it was more like a simple spring. You can take a long bath in the open-air bath by adjusting the temperature. However, there was something like algae all over the bathtub, making it slippery. I felt like I was in for the time being and immediately left. The climb to the parking lot doesn't feel as long as the descent, but the hairpin curve is quite steep. It seems that guests are transported by golf cart, but I think it has quite a bit of torque to be able to carry people up the mountain. The weather was not good and it was foggy, so I gave up on walking along the promenade. The bear warning sign is quite scary. I only saw the waterfall.
