If you linger for a while in the common space on the second floor when you stay, are you a guest? I thought it was rude to be called out to. Although she was a woman, she had strong eyesight and was very scary. I have never been approached in a common space at any hotel. How many yen can non-staying guests use the common spaces?

The lively is a great hotel, in a quieter neighborhood of Roppongi. Rooms are a fantastic size and transportation is a short walk. After exploring busier areas of tokyo, it was nice to come back to a quieter spot. Highly recommend this hotel, the hospitality was outstanding!

It was a dirty hotel, probably because the lighting was generally dark, so they only cleaned the areas that could be seen. Before going to bed, I found a large amount of hair on the back of my pillow, and there was also white dust that had accumulated around the faucet, power switch, and doorknob, which I guess I was wiping.I was left with the impression that it had not been cleaned since when. Also, I had a room with frosted glass (facing the building next door), but I kept hearing a loud banging sound coming from outside, and I couldn't tell if it was the ventilation fan or the outdoor unit.I couldn't sleep, so I went to the front desk around 3 a.m. I went there, explained the situation and the noise, got earplugs, and was asked to change rooms the next day because they were fully booked that day. When I went to the front desk the next morning and gave them my room number, I was asked if I could sleep. I didn't say a word or say I'm sorry, but the first thing I said was, "Huh..."I explained it again from the beginning, and that day I was given a room facing the road, but there was no noise at all.By the way, all the linens in the first room smelled like they were half-dried, and I hated sleeping there, especially on the first day.The location of Azabujuban is perfect, butIt's a hotel that costs about 25,000 yen on weekdays, but the inexperienced staff and the quality of the room, including cleaning (if you are placed in a room with frosted glass, you should get a quick change) are worse than in a hostel.Lastly, it's fine to keep your credit card information just in case, but you should seriously reconsider security, as staff manually enter everything from the number to the expiry date while looking at the card. Impossible.

At the heart of the action in Roppongi, just takes a couple of minutes walking to have anything you need, literally besides a 7-eleven too. The rooms are unique in design, absolutely love the design choices throughout the hotel, staff was amazing and spoke great english, there is a smoking room underground if needed, and the bar at the last floor is absolutely stunning, they offer high quality food and drinks, use latest technologies to enhance the drinks.Lovely experience overall, we were there during the last earthquake (4.something) and nothing bad happened so I guess good build quality.

We booked The Lively without knowing much about it. We arrived at a lobby full of backpacks in storage... so it's a hip and happening spot catering to the younger crowd then? Probably so, but it also served our middle-aged needs. Service was good, and the front desk was helpful. A highlight was the daily free beer in the lobby common room between 5 and 6 pm. There are also free snacks and coffee on offer 24 hours a day. There is a nice bench/table area for the keyboard warriors, but I found that the noise of the nearby pool table made concentrating on serious work impossible. The rooms are small. There are no views, and the rooms can be a bit dark. But overall, the rooms are serviceable. The location is outstanding, with some of Tokyo's best restaurants within walking distance and the train station close by for adventures further afield. Overall, decent value for a high-end area of Tokyo. I will post a separate review of the 9th Floor bar.
