We had an amazing experience. Staff were super helpful and kind. And the rooms were very nice and comfortable. The bath was the main draw for us. Was an amazing time and great location. Would highly recommend anyone stay here.

Ryokan Kamogawa goes above and beyond to make your stay in Asakusa comfortable and enjoyable. Its traditional feel, comfy futons and relaxing bath are all perfect. Apart from the ryokan itself, you can’t beat the convenience of being located right next to Kaminarimon (Thundergate) and the shopping streets that are literally only steps away from the front entrance! 10/10

It's a lovely little hotel. A real gem. Relatively cheap for Tokyo. Very quaint. Extremely accommodating and polite. I'll be happy to come back here anytime.

My husband and I stayed at this property for three nights and found ourselves very wellLOCATION: in Asakusa, very close to Sensō-ji temple, close to the subway and line A which takes you directly to the airport.SERVICE: The structure is on three floors with a lift. The rooms are those of a Ryokan, the structure and organization perhaps less so. On the ground floor there is a dining room with tables. There is also a refrigerator though present in the room. The staff speaks English and is very friendly. There is no laundry serviceROOM: ours was a very large standard room, with tatami mats. it was divided into two areas: at the entrance, after taking off your shoes, there was the area with the futons. Then, divided by sliding panels, there was a low table with chairs, TV, minibar and wardrobe. I think there could have been more futons if desired. an area was dedicated to suitcases with more "worn" tatami. The BATHROOM: The only sore point was the bathroom: there was a toilet immediately while the sink and shower were together. I confess that every now and then we washed ourselves by turning the tap on the wrong side. There were dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were yukatas to go to the "family" bath where you could wash yourself in a large room and then immerse yourself in the tub with hot water like in onsen or public baths. The bathroom had to be booked, at intervals of 30 minutes each from 4pm to 10pm.BREAKFAST: when we went there was no breakfast service available. It was possible to drink hot or cold tea and have some small sweets, but not a real breakfast. For us it wasn't a problem to have breakfast around and taste different products every dayQUALITY/PRICE RATIO: we deliberately chose this structure, although slightly more expensive than others, but very beautiful and in an excellent areaOVERALL OPINION: absolutely recommended

I stayed two nights and it's a very unique experience. Tatami mats and sliding paper doors, oh my! The owners are sweet and speak English for those who are worried. The location couldn't get any better. You're in the very heart of Asakusa, so you're as close as you can get to all the major Temples. They have a nice private onsen bath that you can schedule to use. The pro tip is to go directly to their website instead of using 3rd party apps. They sometimes have a better price and also have some vacancies as well.
