Anyway, if you're looking for a cheap place within walking distance of the station in Matsumoto city, this is the place. It feels more like a large private house with private rooms than an inn. The toilet will be shared. The main building has showers 🚿 only. There is a large bathtub in the annex across the road (as it is shared, it is reserved for private use and can only be bathed when no one else is in the bath). The room has an air conditioner and a TV 📺. Comes with yukata, towel, and toothbrush. However, since it is an old-fashioned building, you can hear the sounds of walking in the hallway, so if you are sensitive, it might be best to avoid it.If you don't mind, this is a really reasonably priced and good inn 😊

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults, an elementary school student, and an infant) and stayed cheaply using 3 sets of futons. As a room-only accommodation, it's within walking distance of Matsumoto Station, the rooms are well-cleaned, the futons are clean, the air conditioner works fine, and there's no odor in the room. It was in good enough condition for a night without meals. (Toilets, baths, and showers are shared) Parking is free.

I've been a repeat customer for a long time. Anyway, I feel calm when I come here. I like it so much that I want to live there already. It's best to take a bath alone in the large bath in the annex. I also appreciate the free bicycles. The inside of the building is like a maze and there are more rooms than I expected, but there are toilets and washrooms everywhere so you won't have to overlap with other people. I always stay here when I go to Matsumoto, so I want it to stay here forever.

Lovely little Ryokan, the owner was very accommodating letting us check in early after hours of traveling.A nice break away from the business of the city while being a couple minutes away from the center and culture spots. The room was small but comfortable, yukatas were provided and we enjoyed the private baths which was a treat after walking all day.Would recommend for a nice rest.

Accommodation costs are low, so you can use it as a base for sightseeing in the area.Ideal for those who don't mind sharing the toilet and washroom. There is a parking lot, but it's extremely small. It's difficult to park in today's big cars. Due to the fact that the surrounding roads are alleys, we do not recommend visiting this facility by car if you are not confident in driving. To be honest, the facilities are old, but important parts have been renovated and are clean. You won't have any complaints. The walls are a little thin, so you can hear noises from other guests, nearby residents, cars, etc.

Japanese style room There is an uncle waiting to welcome you, who is friendly and very polite. The room is clean, the sheets, blankets, etc. are clean. The view is beautiful, the weather is very good, there is a private shower room, there are books, a water dispenser, and everything is clean. I am impressed.

It's less than 10-15 minutes walk from the west exit of Matsumoto Station (approx. 950m), about 10 minutes from Matsumoto BT (approx. 850m), and the price is low even after making various deductions, but it's a 1-star hotel. This is a long post, but I am a former long-term residential guest.Cheaper than bunk bed dorms or capsules. After all, it's cheap in Matsumoto! The lowest price is 4.5 tatami mats at 3,000 yen per person on weekdays (3,500 yen per person during the summer weekend peak season). Prices go up during busy seasons.Compared to a dormitory, it's harder to hear other people's sounds and presences, so I would choose Matsukaze over a dormitory. (However, you can still hear outside sounds, doors, toilet flushing, and walking on the stairs and hallways.)If you want to communicate and talk, a dormitory might be a good option.I have talked to many foreign tourists in Matsukaze as well. There are lots of rat sports, rain leaks, giant centipedes, mosquitoes, small flies, and other insects. The hallway is very cold in winter. If you are a stickler or are concerned about earthquake resistance, drafts, noise, and other issues, it would be better to pay around 4,500 to 6,000 yen and use a cheaper business hotel. Also, it is not suitable for the elderly or people with bad legs as there are only stairs and steps. It's popular among foreign tourists because it's cheap, and it's always fully booked on summer weekends during Matsumoto's tourist season.〇Check-in/out〇The front desk is open 24 hours a day from 15:00 to 23:00 and from 9 to 10 a.m. in the morning. When you go out, you are responsible for taking your keys with you. When checking out, there is no father at the front desk (he is not there most mornings), and if the payment has been made, he leaves the key at the counter and leaves. It seems that PayPay is now available, and cards (some of which are not supported) can now also be used.○For consecutive nights, the futon will be remade every day, the sheets will be changed once every two nights, and the trash and towels will be vacuumed and replaced with yukata robes every day. I put more effort into it than a bad bishiho.○Shared facilities○Free Wi-Fi, unisex toilet, wash basin, main building shower booth and annex private large bath (body soap and 2-in-1 shampoo available), hair dryer, smoking area, microwave oven, free rental bicycles, umbrellas, etc.○ Things in the room ○ Pot & Japanese tea set, bath towel, face towel, yukata, 1-door refrigerator (no freezing function), TV, tatami floor with Japanese FUTON bedding set (TATAMIfloor with Japanese FUTON bedding set), air conditioner,○ Things you don't have (bring your own) ○ Especially disposable items. Toothbrush set, razor, small amenities, disposable slippers, etc. However, the exterior walls have exposed plywood, there are rain leaks, giant centipedes appear, rats run around in the attic at night, and the hot water in the public bath is not maintained. What about hygiene and safety? But.

I had a delightful stay at a charming ryokan run by a sweet elderly couple. Despite my booking mix-up, they kindly accommodated me and made me feel at home. The warmth of their hospitality added a special touch to the experience. Moreover, the ryokan was impeccably clean, creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere throughout my stay. I highly recommend this welcoming establishment for a truly authentic and pleasant stay.
