We visited Yakata during the Kawazu Sakura festival in February, and it's one of the most memorable accommodation experiences we had in recent years. The staff and owner are very polite and eager to introduce the premises to familiarize us with the surrounding area. The owner's cute pet cat is quite approachable and will greet you from time to time. The check-in time is at 3 pm but early luggage storage is available. All rooms are on the second floor and they are all Japanese style rooms, which are the only room type Yakata provides, and these are perfect for tourists who enjoy staying in tatami rooms. Our room is quite spacious and clean with extra space for seating and having snacks. We chose the room plan with breakfast included, and it's one of the best Japanese-style breakfasts we had. The dishes are all pretty delicious, and some of the stuff like pickles and tamagoyaki are all hand-made. Himono is carefully cooked to perfection, and seasonal seafood miso soup and rice are served hot when you are present in the dining hall. Breakfast starts at 8 pm with hot coffee at the end to wrap up the wonderful dining experience. The dinner served here is known to be full of fresh sashimi and assorted seafood dishes, which are carefully selected and prepared by the staff, and we will try it next time when we visit.Yakata is about 7~10 minutes walk from Kawazu station and it also provides indoor and outdoor hot springs for you to enjoy. It's quite unforgettable to soak in the hot springs in an actual boat, enjoying the view of the Kawazu township.Although Yakata is not to be compared with luxurious hotels with advanced facilities and numerous staff, it does provide the fundamental requirements of good ryokan and make them enjoyable, which are considerate service, delicious food, and comfortable baths. We are delighted to stay in Yakata and will visit again if we ever set foot in Kawazu.

It is highly recommended to stay here during Kawazu sakura season. Its location is excellent and the room is clean. Though there is no shower in the room, we enjoyed its onsen and fresh air. We could feel the hospitality from Japanese breakfast they made for the guests.Thank you for providing a nice place for travelers like us🙂

I made a reservation directly through the hotel's official website. I originally received confirmation, but it was canceled without reason 10 days later. The reconfirmation email was sent to the spam folder, which caused a misunderstanding. I have already booked another room. Please leave the available room for other guests.I booked accommodation for February 29, but you sent out reconfirmation letters more than a month ago. I really don’t know the reason? I have traveled to Japan no less than 20 times in the past few years. If I am unable to go, I will still It is stipulated to cancel within the time limit. This is the first time I encounter your situation. We have decided to decline reservations for people who do not live in Japan. This is your attitude in handling things. I originally wanted to apologize to you, but seeing your attitude of refusing to admit your mistakes, I feel that an apology is redundant.

Anyway, dinner is gorgeous!I went with my family of 3 and I thought we wouldn't be able to eat all the food!Speaking of Izu, they serve a whole boiled kinme, and there was enough for about 5 people in the boat platter♪It's best to be hungry before dinner!

The host's hospitality was excellent, and the bathroom and room were clean and well-maintained. Also, the meal was filled with fresh sashimi, and the amount was so large that I couldn't finish it all. Next time, I would like to visit by motorcycle when the weather is nice, as there is also a garage for storing motorcycles.
