I came here looking for a quiet campsite where you can see the sunset 🏍️Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy and I couldn't see the sunset beautifully🥲The elderly couple next to us were making loud noises, which made for another disappointing camping experience 🥲There are two sites, one on the Akita side of the administration building and one on the Yamagata side.Due to lack of research, I pitched my tent in a small area on the Akita side, so it was a little crowded, but the Yamagata side is wider, so I regret that I should have used that.If you drive a little towards the Yamagata side, you'll find a day trip hot spring and a supermarket, so I think you'll be fine even after pitching your tent!

It is located on the sea side of National Route 7 at the Akita-Yamagata prefecture border. On the Akita side, there is a convenience store in 10 minutes and a roadside station with hot springs in 20 minutes.Reception hours vary depending on the season.

As of October 6, 2023, it seems that a bear appeared at the end of July, so it is still closed. It's under administrative control, so it probably won't open until next summer.
