The building is retro from the Showa era, but the tatami mats, sliding doors, and shoji screens in the rooms have been beautifully reupholstered, making it very comfortable. The food was delicious, seasonal, and Japanese-style, and I was able to eat slowly in a private room. The hot springs were extremely relaxing as I was able to relax in the rock bath and cypress bath. The futons are high-quality Nishikawa futons and are fluffy. The best part was the hospitality of the landlady, and it was a good inn where I was satisfied with everything.

...It was my first experience at an inn of this level of antiquity! There was a large hall that I think was probably crowded with group customers in the past. The maintenance costs alone...looks like a lot.The hot springs were very nice. They switch the men's and women's baths at night and in the morning, so I enjoyed both. The room...is quite old.The towels and futons are also showing their age...However, I was grateful that they provided slippers for the children and allowed me to share the room with my small dog.

I thought I'd write a review so you don't have to go through such a hard time. This was the oldest inn I've ever stayed at. The floor and walls are slightly damaged, and temporary repairs have been made. The walls of the room are thin and you can hear the conversation of the family next door. The floor of the bath was lined with block walls, and the bottom of the bath was lined with stones about 40 cm long. Since the blocks and stones moved, I was worried that my child might get hurt, so I couldn't take my time at all.I can't help but wonder why Kumamoto Prefecture would be able to grant a business license to an inn in this condition. It was 8000 yen per person for a room without meals.I gave it 2 stars because of the kind landlady and close proximity to the expressway IC. I will never stay there again.

It was a hotel similar to when I went back to my grandmother's house when I was a child. It's a quaint building, and at the entrance there were various nostalgic items that looked like something you'd find at your grandmother's house.I was able to spend a relaxing time in the tatami room. The bath had hot spring water flowing directly through it, so I was able to relax and warm up.The employees were kind and I felt like I was back in the countryside.Recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time away from everyday life.

I was worried because the reviews weren't good, but I didn't feel any inconvenience after arriving. It's probably an evaluation of the building. The room has been thoroughly cleaned. For dinner, there are many dishes such as grilled foil, stewed fish, and cutlassfish sashimi, all of which are delicious. The miso stir-fried bitter gourd and eggplant served for breakfast had an elegant and healthy taste. The rock bath hot spring was also good. There were other customers, but I didn't meet anyone and used the hot springs as if they were private. You can relax your body slowly.

When I called to make a reservation, I was told in a strong tone, ``We're raising the meal right now.'' I was surprised. I don't even want to call anymore. Take care of your customers.

I was relieved that the information center was closed and I was able to make a reservation on the day and stay overnight without meals. I looked for someone else, but they turned me down, probably because it was difficult to prepare. How many days in advance should you make a reservation?

The building is a little old, but the lady is kind. Kumamon, designed for the Doll's Festival, will welcome you (February). Good luck, Hiraya!

It's more like a wabi-sabi world-class hotel than it is rustic (lol). It seems to be a very old hotel, and even has autographs of famous people from 1960 on display.Naturally, the building is old and the facilities are... but it is reasonably clean, and there are historical items quietly displayed around the front desk.I also heard from a female employee that it used to be a busy place.Although the building had four floors of rooms, only the rooms on the second floor were in use, and they were also vacant. The lights on the third floor were turned off and the fourth floor was used as a storage room.Even if there are no vacancies on major travel reservation sites, you may be able to stay if you make a reservation over the phone. As I wrote at length, this is one place I recommend if you are looking for a tasteful accommodation that is not luxurious.
