This is a campsite located close to the Mt. Kenashi trailhead. For now, head towards the roadside station in Shinjo Village, and after entering Shinjo Village, take Prefectural Route 58 and follow the directions to Mt. Kenashi to get there. You can also go from the National Route 181 side, but this is not recommended as the road is narrow and it is difficult to separate. The altitude is around 670m, so you need to be careful about the temperature.(Because it drops by 0.6℃ per 100m...)When using the campsite, you can make reservations through the camping reservation site ``Nappu'' without contacting the village office. (Depending on the season, it may also be used by groups...)The manager will come around 4pm to 6pm, so you will have to pay the usage fee at that time. There are campgrounds deep in the mountains, but although there is a roadside station near Shinjo Village, there are no large grocery stores, so you will need to buy groceries on the way there. The most recent one is Marui Katsuyama store. The campsite is a free site, but it is not flat and is slightly sloping, so you need to consider your sleeping position when positioning your tent. The hammock doesn't have trees at appropriate intervals, so it seems a little impossible. There is only lighting in the arbor of the kitchen building, so you can enjoy the starry sky in total darkness at night. (Although it is deep in the mountains, private houses are relatively close.)When I looked around, I didn't see any deer or wild boar droppings, but there was a warning about bears at the Mt. Kenashi trailhead, so it's better to manage your trash properly. You can make a bonfire by laying out a sputter sheet and using a bonfire stand, but there is no charcoal dumping area, so you will have to take the extinguished charcoal and trash home with you.The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, with separate male and female toilets and multifunctional toilets. There is also a vending machine in front of the Kenashiyama Visitor Center, which is a few minutes walk away. The tap water in the kitchen building is drinkable. Cell phone reception is fine. There is a stream next to the campsite, and you can play in the water for a bit, but there is a sea bass farm downstream, so you need to be careful not to do anything that will worsen the water quality. .This time I used it in early May 2024. The weather was clear, with a minimum temperature of 3℃ and a maximum temperature of 26℃ (it was cold for the time of year).
