It was perfect for those of us who like retro and emo atmosphere! You can have delicious and wonderful meals in your room in the morning and evening, and the staff, the grandfathers and grandmothers, are very soothing. The baths are reserved for private use and can be used at any time, and there are many hot spring towns just a short walk around town! It was a heartwarming inn that I wish would continue on forever.

This facility is close to the bus stop and can be reached in about 1 minute, but it is also a few minutes walk from the two drop-in hot springs, ``Machi-no-yu'' and ``Shirazaru-no-yu''. It seems that Tawarayama Onsen does not have hot springs for lodging facilities, and uses a drop-in hot spring system. However, the biggest feature here is that there are two free family baths, large and small, that are heated using hot spring water. This is an option if you don't care about the natural hot spring water or open-air baths. The room was undeniably old, but the facilities were fine and it had a toilet. The food was varied and filling.

It was my first time using it. This time, it was just us, so we were able to take it easy. The meal 🍖 was brought to us by an aunty and it was very delicious. The bath was also a hot spring and was very nice. thank you very much.

An inn at Tawarayama Onsen, located in the mountains of western Yamaguchi Prefecture. In the hot spring town with a long history, there are hot springs running directly from the hot springs, such as public baths on the street and Shirazaru-no-Yu. It is carefully managed and operated by local people.Yamaguchiya Annex has two indoor baths that can be reserved for private use, and although the baths are open by the hour, if you stay on weekdays when there are fewer guests, you can enjoy a private hot spring bath whenever you like, creating a great space where you can soak in the famous hot springs for as long as you like.Stroll around the hot spring town that has a true Showa retro atmosphere and relax at authentic hot springs and inns. After your bath, enjoy a glass of local sake brewed with Tawarayama rice. As we are close to the Sea of Japan, the food is delicious, especially the local rice grown in Tawarayama.I highly recommend it. Like (^^)

A ryokan in Tawarayama Onsen. Most inns around here don't have indoor baths, so you have to go to two nearby public baths, but Yamaguchiya Annex has two family baths. It's not a free flow, but... Although the facility is old, it is kept clean. I had a puffer fish course for dinner, but I had to prepare everything from the hotpot to the porridge myself, and the porridge was not very good.

A ryokan located in Tawarayama Onsen.Tawarayama Onsen is basically an outdoor bath culture, but here there were two types of indoor baths. It's also a rare inn that allows pets, making it the perfect place to relax with your dog.Payment: cash onlyRegular holidays: Irregular holidays✔︎ 1 night with 2 meals (boar hotpot) 18,000 yen/person✔︎ Bottled beer 900 yen✔︎ 1 small dog 2,200 yenIf you bring your pet, we will ask you to use the separate second floor. There were two living rooms and a kotatsu, so I was able to spend a spacious and relaxing time. For dinner, I chose the wild boar hotpot, and it was quite filling. The hot springs were also warm and quite soothing.Tawarayama Onsen is not always crowded, but it has a nice atmosphere that gives you a nostalgic feeling.
