About eight years ago, in February, I spent six nights and seven days at a spa. At that time, it cost just over 3,000 yen per night without meals. It was the off-peak season, so it was almost reserved, so I was able to relax enough. The bathroom is not large, but the hot water is good. Ingredients can be procured at the nearby Marukome Store. The problem is alcohol, and the only liquor store seems to have gone out of business a few years ago, so I have to either bring my own, although it's heavy, or order it at the hotel, although it's more expensive. When I'm bored in my room, the owner and his wife will call me into the living room and treat me to tea and sweets, making me feel at home. I liked it so much that I returned a few years later for mountain stream fishing. I haven't been able to go since then due to the coronavirus outbreak, but it's an inn I'd definitely like to visit again. You can also relax at Yukemurikan, a day trip hot spring facility that was recently opened nearby, so please come and visit us. Also, the ramen at the Abe branch in front of Akakura Onsen Station is a must-try, and it's worth the wait.
