While the town and historic house are beautiful. The service at Rita needs to be elevated for the price you spend an evening there.We stayed 2 nights, the second day our beds were not made and the bedroom was not clean. I understand if this is their thing but if you're paying a price for a luxury hotel then I believe house keeping service is a must in my opinion.Our in room water bottle was not refreshed the second day either. And the main entrance to the room had an opening so bugs were able to come in throughout the day.Another thing that bothered us in our stay was that the breakfast served was the same exact thing for both days. We just thought the experience would have been elevated if they had changed a few dishes using local ingredients.It just left a weird impression that if they don’t make the beds don’t change the water, what other corners are they cutting?Overall the experience of the town of Izumi was great, it’s a beautiful town nestled a drive away from Kagoshima. Rita is also a beautiful historic home, and I would love to recommend staying there. The views are stunning.However if the hotel experience remains the same with what we received, I would recommend staying elsewhere like the Sheraton Kagoshima where the service and hotel were both amazing each time we stayed there.We stayed for 2 nights, but on the second day the bed was not made and the bedroom was not clean. I felt a little disappointed because the food was made with local ingredients.He didn't make his bed, he didn't change his water, and I was left with a strange impression of what else he was doing to cut corners.Izumi is a beautiful town located a short drive from Kagoshima. Rita is also a beautiful historic house, so I would love to stay there.If your experience at the hotel is no different than what we received, I would recommend staying at another hotel like the Sheraton Kagoshima.

The samurai residence has been beautifully renovated, and the original red walls have a nice color. The hospitality of the staff was also wonderful.For dinner, we had very satisfying sushi at Jusushi! We highly recommend that you try the sushi that is full of the chef's ideas.I had breakfast at Izu. I had a simple but delicious breakfast with just the right amount of food. This is an inn where you want to stay for several nights!

We stayed one night at Kato House MADOKA with 3 adults and 1 infant (parents and child).⚫︎Room: It was spacious, clean, and had plenty of lighting, so I was able to spend a relaxing time in a warm atmosphere.Although it was August, the air conditioner in the room was working and comfortable.⚫︎Staff service: kind and courteous. When I told them that I had a disability when making the reservation, they prepared a bed for 4 people. When it rained, the staff took care to deliver an umbrella to the front of the room.The inn also has partnerships with nearby shops, making it a fun place to stroll around the samurai residence.If you wish for future development, please ① inform us on the website or at the time of reservation that the entrance to the parking lot next to the front desk is narrow. ② After checking in, when moving to a room that does not have an adjacent parking lot, please be sure to check your luggage when moving to a room that does not have an adjacent parking lot. I think it would be helpful for elderly people and people with disabilities to have the option of picking up and dropping off by car. ③The cypress bath was so comfortable that my parents said it would be easier to use if there was a hand bucket in addition to the tub.Overall, thank you for your extraordinary time.

This inn is a renovated Izumi samurai residence that is a tourist attraction and was the filming location for the taiga drama "Atsuhime." The rooms are very spacious and have been updated with the latest equipment while still making use of the old floor plan.At night it was pitch black and all I could hear was the sounds of insects, but it made me forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and taught me what true luxury is. This was an overnight trip, but I would like to come again someday.
