Hands down the best experience you can have in Japan. Wonderful hosts! We weren't going to impose by having dinner/breakfast due to my partner being a Celiac, however they encouraged us to have meals, and I'm glad we did. They explained that they could cook for a gluten free diet and even provided gluten free soy sauce. We had the best Gluten Free meal of our trip. It was perfectly authentic. The rooms were very comfortable tatami design.I cannot recommend this accommodation enough.11/10 review! Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay. Also the Onsen is amazing.

My husband and I stayed there for a night while visiting the Snow Monkeys. Oto San proposed to come get our luggage as we had left them with the Roman museum while visiting. It did not work out in the end, but we appreciated the service a lot. The 10-course dinner and breakfast was fantastic. Incredible cook in house! We only managed to eat 75% of the food. Sooo much food! They have 2 onsens. We went to the larger one and it was lovely. A very special experience. Highly recommend!

Loved our stay here. Beautiful, quaint and extremely well maintained Ryokan. The host was lovely and extremely servant hearted. She picked us up from Yudanaka station and brought us to the hotel. I had reservations about using shared bathroom facilities but it was totally fine. They were very clean and the shower was in the onsen area, which could be privately used. The onsen itself was fantastic particularly during winter and after days spent skiing. We had breakfast and two kaiseki dinners at the hotel and the food was fabulous. The first dinner included a large amount of delicious wagyu thin cut steaks (high grade marbling). Second dinner was also Wagyu but shabu shabu style. The serving size was plentiful and we weren’t able to finish all our food. The hotel is located not far from the station and about 20 minutes from the snow monkey area and about 30 mins from Shiga Kogen Ski Resort where we did some skiing. Highly recommend this hotel.
