Wonderful experience at this Ryokan! The people working there are incredibly nice and accommodating, including driving us to the monkey Park which saved us a lot of time. The meals including breakfast and dinner are both incredibly delicious and large, you won't go hungry. They are also very accommodating to the vegan diet which was appreciated and took all vegan options and allergies into account. We used the private onsen and the water was incredibly hot and nice.

Lovely rooms with ample space, very comfortable and warm futon’s on tatami floors with a Chabudai table. We loved the private inside onsen which can be booked for private usage and they also have an outside communal bath. The staff were wonderful, we woke one morning to look outside and see one of them clearing 1 foot of snow from our vehicle. Highly recommend this experience and advise you to try as many of the local bath houses in the nearby township. Just remember this establishment is quite old and the toilets/amenities are communal.

A plan that includes breakfast costs about 8,000 yen per person.Although the building is old, it has been renovated and the room was comfortable with a washlet and air conditioning. It was the end of August, so it was extremely hot, so when I checked in, I was worried that the room would be too hot and the air conditioner wouldn't work, but it turned out to be a good thing. There are three baths: an open-air bath, an indoor bath, and a private cypress bath.I only had access to the open-air bath. The bathtub is large and a nice hot spring, but there are two washing areas and the amount of water in the shower is disappointing. The water is hot. I don't mind the heat, so I went in. Everyone seemed to be pumping out tap water and adjusting it, so when I took a bath in the morning, the water was lukewarm.Breakfast was served in a private room that was not used as a guest room. It was nice that the air conditioner was working here too.Breakfast is like the breakfast, which is nothing special.Rather than serving customers, I felt like I was trying not to interact with them too much.Even in the morning, the ladies who were cooking and cleaning didn't say hello, just passing by each other.I don't mind, but people who are concerned about customer service may not like it. My wife didn't even say hello⁉️ and was a little annoyed. (^◇^;)

Stayed two nights with breakfast and dinner both of which were delicious, healthy, and beautifully prepared. The hosts were very kind and gave information and recommendations, as well as a ride to the snow monkey park. The outdoor onsen especially was amazing, and after thoroughly pouring the hot water onto myself I was able to enjoy the hot temperature fully. The location is good as well, we were able to walk easily to shibu onsen, as well as to the Kannon statue for world peace which were both very special experiences.

This was the best stay we have had in Japan! We were able to have the private onsen to ourselves, which is unbelievable for the price. The owner was very kind, and even offered to drive us to the monkey park!
