Owner they're very helpful and kind. They gave us advice for restaurants and places. The room is comfortable and large. Very impressed. Location is also near to the first shrine around 200m.

The room was a very big traditional style room. With private toilet (no bath or shower) and traditional heater table. The staff is a family who are extremely kind and warm. They speak good english and they serve very nice traditional meals. I recommend to book with breakfast and dinner, as all the restaurants in the zone close around 3 pm.It is placed very close to the path to the main shrine (aprox 1.5 h to there by walking) which is a very nice walk.Very recommended

When I was traveling to Togakushi, I made a reservation because it was close to Togakushi Shrine and Kagami Pond. The room I was shown at a fairly historic inn was spacious with a Japanese-style room, hallway, and washroom. The room was quite old and had noticeable dirt and stains. The sink in the bathroom was cracked and the toilet was quite old, so it took some courage to use it.The sash in the hallway didn't seem to move and wasn't locked. We were told to use the bathrooms in each room. It was spacious enough for two people. For meals, we were seated at a table in a separate room, so we were able to eat slowly. We had a choice of soba noodles for dinner, but since they were made by hand, I thought they were a little disappointing.During the meal, the innkeeper's explanations (chatting) were so long that I was unable to spend a leisurely time.I got the impression that everyone at this inn rarely smiled. The location is good, and I think the price is very low, but I think it's worth the price including the service.I haven't used any other ryokan in Togakushi so I can't compare it, but it might be fine if it comes with two meals at this price, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a clean room and decent service.

I stayed for one night on New Year's Eve.I thought I would visit five shrines and trek to Kagami Pond, but unfortunately it rained.I gave up on Kagamiike and visited with a completely cold body. It's a historic Japanese house, so I thought it would be cold, but there was a large stove in the hallway, so I hardly ever felt cold.(I was also able to experience that there is a big difference depending on whether you leave the shoji open or closed. The shoji paper is amazing.)Depending on the room you stay in, you might hear footsteps coming from the second floor, but I thought Japanese houses were like that... It reminded me of my grandmother's house and made me feel nostalgic.Actually, I was staying alone, but there was a comfortable distance between us so I didn't feel lonely, and I didn't get too bothered. We received a pleasant welcome. It felt like a kind hometown (sorry). There is also the pleasure of celebrating New Year's Eve with Togakushi soba noodles made by the owner.Partly because of the timing of my stay, but being able to experience Togakushi New Year was also a very interesting experience.Thank you very much. There was an earthquake on the Noto Peninsula the evening after we checked out...Was everyone okay?

We had an amazing stay at the Oshi Ryokan last night. It’s close to all the traditional temples and a very authentic place to stay. Tip: make a reservation for the dinner. It’s made by the hostess and simply amazing! Thank you so much Oshi-San for having us. 🙏
