If you are thinking of staying in Togakushi, I highly recommend it.I visited in late autumn when it was snowing, but the kotatsu and fan heater in the spotless room made me feel like I was in a nostalgic relative's house. After taking a bath that was better than I imagined, I had a meal that I was looking forward to: Soba Shojin Ryori. The ingredients that have been passed down from generation to generation are seasoned well and served in an easy-to-eat manner. I couldn't even finish my homemade breakfast. It was my first time to stay in a lodging place, so I was a little nervous, but I thought it was much better than a bad lodging facility. The warm personality of the landlady is also a reason why we recommend it.

This time, I chose Shukubo Ryokan as my base for exploring Togakushi. The biggest reason I chose this place was because I was able to enjoy an ``ancient sunny day meal'' that was recreated by the proprietress herself, which she unraveled from ancient documents.Togakushi is synonymous with soba noodles, and this was my first experience eating soba noodles, a soba kaiseki meal made with a dipping sauce of mouse radish and local miso, pickled rock mushrooms, and other ingredients brought in from all over Shinshu. This is the only one that is served in perfect reproduction even in Togakushi. The bath is a family bath and can be locked and used by groups.I visited on October 19th, but the kotatsu was already out and the morning and evening hours were perfect.

The soba noodles, tempura, and cucumber pickles are extremely delicious. The soba soup is also very strong and has a concentrated flavor. The classical atmosphere of the restaurant adds a touch of elegance to the soba noodles.

We received great hospitality.Even though we arrived late, dinner was served hot.Everything was very tasty, plentiful, and well-balanced.It was my first time to have sweetfish sashimi.Shochu soba mixed with beer. The bath is a large family bath.Book a room with a toilet and washroom. You can relax slowly. The building is old, but every corner is shiny and there isn't a speck of dust.I had a very comfortable stay. What's more, it's reasonably priced even though it's limited to 3 groups per day.The breakfast was all homemade and very delicious.I would like to stay here again if I come to Togakushi. The food was so delicious that I ended up having soba noodles for lunch.Tempura soba 1300 yenThe owner seems to be a Shinto priest at Togakushi Shrine Hokosha.I will come back again if I come to Togakushi.
