I think this is a nice and relaxing inn that was renovated from an old private house.I enjoy talking with the two owners. Please pet Yoshihiko-kun.

It doesn’t seem fit to be a guest house really. As soon as I arrived, was really excited to leave. The sink is outside which is strange and inconvenient, and the house is messy. Also I saw a cockroach at night and was worried it would crawl on me at night 😅😖.If I were you, I would stay somewhere else.Their rating system on the wall (see photo) says it all. 5 stars is not “normal”, 5 stars should be excellent or above average. I am giving 2 stars because it did the job (ie a place to sleep) but everything else was very bad. The host seems super uninterested, like they really didn’t care at all. It was overall a pretty bad experience.

I am a walking pilgrim, and this has so far been the worst accommodation on the pilgrimage so far. If you can stay at Hostel 東風ノ家-古民家宿&Cafebar (Hostel Kochi-no-Ya) you should definitely go there as its a similar price but significantly better accommodation. My specific qualms in order of annoyance are1) When 4 separate parties arrived at the same time. 2 people got their own rooms, and 2 people had to share a room (randomly selected), yet the cost was the same for everyone (I paid ¥4500, when I had to share a room previously I paid ¥2000)2) The house is right next to the train tracks so at night and in the morning the train is VERY loud. The walls separating the rooms are also traditional paper, so you hear everyone snoring.3) There is a cat that wanders around. The one rule which the owner mentioned over and over was to not pet the cat inside, but I fail to see how this can solve a cat allergy problem if the animal can just walk right in. There was no mention of this before arrival. I have minor cat allergy which was definitely flaring up.4) The house is a mess. Things are stashed all over the place making it very unpleasant to be in.5) The owner was unhelpful and even dismissive. There was a bike outside which was completely unusable (why is it even there?) with a chain that is rusted stuck. When I asked if there was any other bike he said no I need to walk or take the train/bus (fine answer, but other hosts have shown immense kindness driving us places so compared to that baseline he just didn't seem interested in doing any more than the bare minimum)I was surprised by how poor of an accommodation this is given it is a Henro House. It will do in a pinch but go somewhere else if you can.

Thank you for helping me on my bike pilgrimage in April! The owner of a nearby barber shop also came out to give us details about the location! Even though it was raining, we received Osettai from everyone including those at the inn! Thanks to your help, I was able to successfully complete my subsequent pilgrimage and bike trip around Japan! Thank you very much! 🙇 From Amami number 🌺

Right next to Iogi station. Difficult to get there by car. There is a good sense of distance between the shop owner and the customers. It feels like staying at a friend's house without meals. There are also cats and dogs.

In the spring of 2023, while traveling through Shikoku, I lived in the same house as a Japanese woman here. A little embarrassing. However, I was very tired after walking for a day. Slept okay.Although the house is older and smaller, the people are very friendly. We are like a family.

This is a repeat ♪ After using it for one night on a walking pilgrimage, I used it for sightseeing during the next fall and winter vacations. It's a warm space that feels like coming home, and I'm happy that it's reasonably priced.
