You will read various reviews. This is mine. As a pilgrim I seek a clean and safe place to sleep. You will not get this here. The host does not keep track of bookings and you can just turn up either way.She happily takes money with no paperwork. We arrived early. Phoned the host and were told take any of the 3 rooms as there were no other bookings. The residence was overflowing with clutter, flies in the kitchen, rotting food on the table. Dirty linen on beds.I cleaned the bench area to dissuade the flies. I sourced clean linen from upstairs and we made our beds.We unpacked, showered and washed clothes.Later, after many people arrived she insisted we pack up and move to another accommodation over the road as she had decided our room was to be used by another guest. For both places it was clear all bedding was unwashed (for many days) and I found bedbugs in my bedding at her other accommodation. She seemed of the view talking, being helpful, providing meals and offering beds to anyone and free pack transfer was all that mattered. If cleanliness is not an issue then by all means stay here. This place was the opposite of all the immaculate places prior. I do not recommend it.She is a disgrace to the others who also offer Henro houses. If I could give a minus review I would.

I do not recommend it! The food was terrible, with only three small dishes for dinner, and the 1,000 yen dinner bill was too expensive. The kitchen is also unsanitary and there is no air conditioner in the room.Today's maximum temperature is 36 degrees. It felt like I had been scammed.

A very lively and kind owner. We arrived cold and wet and she insisted on driving us to the local (excellent) onsen and picking us up afterwards. She speaks good English, cooked us a lovely meal and offered to transport our packs. A genuine homestay accommodation that's perfect for weary Henros. March 2024.

The worst experience of the pilgrimage! The woman is very nice but doesn't seem to know how to say no! It accommodated more pilgrims than there was room to sleep. I had booked a week before and found myself in an abandoned house with no decent amenities even though people had booked the day before and had rooms!!! She runs everywhere, the kitchen as messy as the main house. She charged me the same price as those who were staying in the real house. To flee!!
