This is a campsite for climbers. It is difficult to find a base camp for fishing. The road is narrow. Bridges are also difficult to cross, making it difficult for medium-sized or larger SUVs.

I used it to climb Mt. Iide in July 2023. It's a convenient location with a campsite. The parking lot can accommodate about 50 cars. If you are planning to climb the mountain, please submit the mountain climbing notification form available in the management room.Docomo will be available from 2023. There is only one antenna, which is very weak, but it can be used as a line. Please note that you can use your cell phone once you get to the top of Mt. Iide. The toilets are relatively clean and suitable for sleeping in the car. The course at Mt. Iide is for advanced climbers and is extremely tough, so be careful.

2022/9/21I used the parking lot while climbing Mt. Iide. free. There is a toilet (relatively clean, no lights, Japanese style). It seems that you can wash your shoes in the river flowing beside it. There is a box in the office building for mountain climbing notifications. The trailhead is on the far right when looking from the parking lot entrance. It is 10.5km to the summit of Mt. Iide, and the round-trip course time is 14 hours and 20 minutes. Enter the forest road from the prefectural road at the village of Kawairi for 1.8 km. Although the forest road is paved, it is narrow and there are some collapsed shoulders on the river side, and there are no guardrails, so please be especially careful when driving at night. Currently, the prefectural road cannot go up from Kawairi, and it is impossible to pass through to Yamagata. The cause appears to be a road collapse on the Yamagata Prefecture side.

I think it's a good size for a campsite. At night, there are no street lights, so you are completely enveloped in darkness.People who take the express train from the city and spend the night in the car will feel as if they have arrived in the mountains all at once.Since it was in the mountains, there wasn't a single docomo radio station. So I have no choice but to sleep. To begin with, the basic signal is poor in this area. After climbing the mountain, I continued along the road heading towards Murakami City in Niigata, which is in the opposite direction from Kitakata City, but had the rare experience of not receiving a signal for nearly 30 minutes. Also, the 2km road leading to the campsite is really just one lane. There are no guardrails, so if you fall, you'll end up in the river. I'm really glad there was no oncoming car.
