Even 5 stars are not enoughIt turns out that the B&B can be reached right nowIs the host more precious?Accommodate up to two groups of guests per dayPerfect in every aspectFrom instructions when checking in, two meals, to greetings when checking outEvery link is filled with the slightest considerationI also felt that people who grew up in Shirakawa-go have an in-depth understanding of the local area. Two days and one night experienceWitness the transformation of Shirakawa Township from liveliness to silenceFrom silence to darknessfrom darkness to dawnIt's really great to be here

It was my first time staying in a gassho-zukuri building, and I was very impressed.Sachiemon is the center of Ogimachi, so I don't think it took much time to walk anywhere. The room was large and clean. "I'm lucky to be able to stay here," I thought. As for dinner and breakfast, they were very delicious.I think if I ate that much good food every day, I would live forever lolAnd the service was perfect. The staff always helped with any questions we had.Plus, since I'm a fan of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, I got a special map and could read the Higurashi manga in front of my room, so it was really nice to stay here.My favorite spot in the house was the porch.I sat on the porch before dinner and breakfast and enjoyed the mountains and garden.Try it yourself!-----If I return to Shirakawa-go, I will definitely stay at Koemon again.

I used it for one night while traveling. The interior has an old-fashioned feel, which I personally liked. I was a smoker at the time, so it was nice to have a smoking area inside the inn.Dinner was also delicious.I visited around autumn, and I slept on the porch of my room. The windows were still screened, so I wondered if insects would come in during the summer.I think it's a privilege for guests to be able to explore Shirakawa-go at night or early in the morning when there are no tourists, so please give it a try.

A private house with a history of hundreds of years in Gassho Village has been operating as a B&B for decades. The houses are all made of wood, and the roof is made of traditional straw, which is fully 2 feet thick, giving it a very simple feel. The whole house only accommodates 2 groups of tourists. Room rate includes breakfast and dinner for 2 people. There are 12 local dishes for dinner, including of course the famous Hida beef here. This dinner is very delicious and filling. When visiting Shirakawa-go, it is worth staying one night in this ancient village to appreciate the tranquility here.

Impressions of staying in January 2024When we discussed changing the number of people due to various circumstances, they responded very kindly. It snowed a lot on the day of our stay, so the shoes I was wearing weren't enough, but they lent me rain boots when I went out after checking in. It was very helpful. Also, the umbrellas sold in Shirakawa-go were small and inconvenient, but I was able to borrow large umbrellas from the hotel, which was great. There's even a flashlight for night outings! The atmosphere inside the hostel was calm, not too cold or too hot, just the right feeling.Actually, I would have liked a hostel with a hearth, but before I checked in, I experienced the hearth at the Folk Crafts Museum for the first time, and it was a lot more smoky than I expected, so even though I like the smell of smoke, I was glad that there was a stove. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets are clean, and there is also a smoking room. Also, the rice was incredibly delicious. The two of us ate two bowls of ohitsu for dinner and one bowl of breakfast. There were so many side dishes that it was a little difficult to finish them all, but they were really delicious. Also, the side dishes and desserts were very delicious.Although it was an additional charge, the sake Shirakawamura was so delicious that even I, who don't like sake, could drink a little.I bought it as a souvenir and took it home the next day.I was worried until I checked in, but I was very happy to be able to stay in a place that was nicer than I expected. If you are unsure about where to stay, we highly recommend Koemon.

The host was not cold or particularly kind, but the distance was just right for me.As for the food, there wasn't much flavorful and hearty food (especially the breakfast), and although the white rice was very delicious, I was disappointed that I didn't get a second helping. I usually stay at inns with buffets, so I can't help but feel a bit unsatisfied, but all the inns in Shirakawa-go are pretty similar, and on the other hand, if you're looking for something nostalgic, a simple hotel like this would give you a better atmosphere. I switched toEven though it is a gassho-style building, the bath and other facilities are of the modern style. The room where I spend most of my time feels like an ordinary old country house, and it doesn't have that much charm. The living room is the only room with an atmosphere, but the lights are off except during meal times, making it difficult to use.The accommodation itself was adequate considering the price, but I am giving this rating because it was below my expectations for my long-held dream of staying in Shirakawa-go.

Thank you for taking care of my family (a couple, two high school students, and one elementary school student) during our Higurashi sacred site pilgrimage trip. From the moment I called to make a reservation, I was treated with courtesy and kindness. It was a long way from Kagawa Prefecture, but I'm really glad I went!My first visit to Shirakawa-go (Hinamizawa Village) was already amazing.I was so excited that I forgot to take a photo of the room lolWe were the only guests, and we had the privilege of using all three rooms for exclusive use!The entire facility is a nice and comfortable space.I was able to truly relax.Everyone said that the food was delicious and I couldn't stop asking for second helpings of rice lol.Precisely because the rice and water are so delicious, it brings out the flavors of the hoba miso and rockfish even more.I was full from both dinner and breakfast, but it would be a waste to leave any food left! The rice was so delicious that I wanted to take it home as salt rice balls. If rice and water are delicious, then sake is the way to go.I drank it right away, so I forgot to take another photo, but my husband and I had some Shirakawago Junmai Daiginjo, and it was delicious!I bought two bottles from Kataribe and went home.It was a truly wonderful family trip.My whole family agreed that we would definitely stay at Koemon next time we come, so we look forward to staying with you again.Thank you so much♪
