We had booked a weekend there, the room, cleanliness and breakfast were all fine!At dinner the side dish was forgotten, the tablecloth was stained, the drinks offered on the menu were not available... This absolutely shouldn't happen for this price

The hotel was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only the bathroom in the room was so narrow that people with stomachs would probably have a lot of trouble getting to the toilet or taking a shower.

Despite registering in advance and being informed that these were VERY large dogs, we were expelled from the hotel in an unfriendly tone because our two dogs were too big for the gentleman at reception!

We had a very nice stay. We used the wellness area every day... the water was a little cold but overall it was great. I would recommend only arriving on the weekend as there is a sufficient breakfast then. Our stay was Friday to Monday and on Monday morning you noticed a big difference compared to the weekend when it came to breakfast.We will definitely come back to escape from our everyday lives

Nice location. If you constantly use your cell phone, it should be clear that there is a dead spot. However, the WiFi/hotspot coverage is good.However, the service and customer friendliness could be improved. For example, we went to a workshop (with catering there) and wanted to have a coffee outside the conference zone (on the restaurant terrace). Was rejected by the staff, so no coffee.

Unfortunately, the negative reviews have been completely confirmed! The operator, Mr. Gietz, does not greet the guest with a friendly welcome, but with a list of what is not included in the average room price of €170/night. Breakfast per person/day €20. Wellness per person/day €20. Dog per day 20€. The Double Comfort room, described on booking.com as quiet and facing the countryside, faced a busy thoroughfare with a view of an exhaust duct. The request for a room change was rudely rejected. The offer for cancellation and departure as well. Another offer to pay 50% of the room price and leave was commented on with: “We generally do not cancel prepaid bookings on booking.com. You just have to take out travel cancellation insurance.” Since we didn’t sleep a wink during the night, we left on the first night at full cost. To be fair, the room was new and renovated. You almost have to experience the almost grotesque unfriendliness and lack of goodwill of the operator yourself, otherwise you won't believe it!

A somewhat outdated hotel that has been gradually renovated.We had a small double room with a very small bathroom, which was just fine for people of 1.86. It didn't bother us because the wellness area was completely sufficient.The wellness area is great, tastefully done and you feel very comfortable. Pure relaxation.Breakfast and dinner were very good and the service was very polite and competent.The location is very quiet and you can go on great hikes from here.The price for this hotel is on the higher side, so the breakfast could be a little more classy

The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are very noisy. Our room was only separated from the neighboring room by a thin wooden door.At breakfast, canned fruit and cheap baked rolls were served, sausage and cheese were okay. Unfortunately there was no bacon and the scrambled eggs were too runny for us.Dinner tastes good and the selection is creative. 👍I cannot understand the negative reviews about the service. For us, the service was exemplary both morning and evening.The sauna area is new and modern. Unfortunately, the relaxation area is inconveniently located and the air there was musty.Considering the price, we would not visit the hotel again due to its age and poor breakfast.

The location is because of the lack of view and the exorbitantly high entrance fees, just under €20 for the swimming pool unfortunatelyonly 4 stars. The service is good, but unfortunately room service only takes place very late in the afternoon. Food is good, but for the price asked, there is still room for improvement. All in all, a solidly good performance.

Our stay was an absolute failure. We booked 2 nights with a wellness package and breakfast / 3-course menu in the evening and were very disappointed. We ended our stay after just one night.The lady at reception was very friendly, the hotel is quite winding, but we were prepared for that. However, there was already an unpleasant smell in the hallway and when we entered our very small room, we were greeted by a rush of musty air. This hotel room has probably not been inhabited for a long time. The bathroom is so small that you could hardly move, it was impossible for two people. The bathroom, however, was clean. The beds were very sagging and uncomfortable. After the initial disappointment, we were looking forward to our 3-course menu. But further disappointment was not long in coming. The starter consisted of half-wilted lettuce with ready-made dressing from the bottle. The ravioli, on the other hand, were at least warm with the game ragout, but the quality was absolutely not good. Dessert consisted of a frozen cheesecake from the freezer. The staff seemed untrained and strange. When we arrived in the room in the evening, it was far too hot and loud because the walls were very noisy. The breakfast was OK. We decided to end our vacation early because we felt absolutely uncomfortable. Parts of the hotel are renovated, I think the rooms are fine. There are over 100 rooms, but there were hardly more than 6 other people in sight. I suspect the hotel has an insolvency problem or is about to. I don't know about the gastrointestinal problems from the hotel stay that followed the day after, but that would be obvious. The region is great, next time we'll better look for a down-to-earth guesthouse with decent rooms.

Top hotel.The location is wonderfully secluded with a view of the woods, most of the rooms have a balcony with sunlight.Rooms are a bit noisy, but the beds and service quickly compensate for this.The bathroom is modern with a rain shower + shower head, the interior gives the real “wald vibes”, the breakfast is simple but satisfying with a wide choice of (vegetarian) toppings, slices, cottage cheese, omelets and meat.We did not try the spa but I dare say that with the cleanliness and top service of this hotel I have no doubts about what the spa had to offer us.In this hotel you really notice that the guests come first and that is something that is scarce these days. We will definitely come back again and I can recommend it to everyone to spend a night here, just to relax for a while :)For the rest, as I said, the location is very nice, lots of greenery and walking opportunities with waterfalls within a half-hour drive in the area.

Rustic, tastefully modernized hotel in an idyllic secluded location in the middle of the forest next to the Marienthal Franciscan monastery. Anyone who travels by car and appreciates absolute peace and quiet is in good hands here. Bright, cozy rooms with balconies, WiFi, desk, minibar, good beds, very clean bathroom. Friendly staff, rich breakfast, small pool and sauna, restaurant with sun terrace, parking lot behind the house. Recommendation for visitors to the Rheingau Music Festival (hotel only five minutes by car from Johannisberg Castle). Good price/performance ratio (€120 for a double room including breakfast)
