City Hotel

My rating for the City Hotel Bad Vilbel:I recently stayed at the City Hotel Bad Vilbel and would like to share my experience. It was advertised as four stars, but in my opinion this rating in no way reflects the actual quality of the hotel.The room itself was fine, if only swept clean, but far from what you expect with four stars, see long black hair on the bed. The bathrooms in particular leave a negative impression: worn out, with cracked sinks and even mold in the bathroom (see pictures). The heating initially didn't work when the outside temperature was 13 degrees, which was problematic given the current transition period. Although this was fixed after I reported it, it shouldn't have happened in the first place.Another annoyance was the room service. The towels that I had used and put on the floor were not replaced, they were just folded, so that I found the towels still damp in the evening.However, I would like to highlight the staff positively. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which made the stay pleasant, at least in this respect. The restaurant in the hotel also offers very good food, and the hotel's location is quite convenient for business stays.As far as the advertised wellness area is concerned, I can only advise against it. The hotel is advertised as having a sauna, steam bath, solarium and whirlpool, but in fact there is only a sauna and a steam bath. Unfortunately, the steam bath hasn't worked so far, despite repeated requests, it couldn't be started. The cleanliness in this area leaves a lot to be desired and there is a lack of trained staff, which is particularly annoying when the hotel advertises its wellness area. When I asked, I was told that there was no technical staff on site - a disappointing experience.All in all: The City Hotel Bad Vilbel is acceptable for a short business stay of max. 2 days, but no more. In advance, I recommend looking for alternatives in the area.

All hotel staff are friendly and helpful. They were very attentive and made me feel at home. The hotel is in a forest area and the air is incredibly clean. The beds are very comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. The chefs and the food are also incredibly delicious. I would like to thank all my friends for their efforts. 😊

Everything was wonderful, from check-in to breakfast. Parking spaces on site are free of charge, including in the underground car park, for the entire stay!

A great hotel, great atmosphere, clean rooms

It's clean.. tidy.. the breakfast is ok.. The elevator is the slowest I've ever experienced.. if you walk backwards up the stairs you're still faster

We booked the hotel with my husband for a few nights and hoped that it would be reasonable with 4 stars…The hotel itself looks really impressive and beautiful from the inside, and the rooms don't look bad either. But the nasty surprise came in the room itself. They just don't have air conditioning!!!! And that in midsummer!!! This isn't the first year that Germany has had such hot summers. How can you do this to poor people? Ok... let's assume that as a 4 star hotel you don't have the money for air conditioning, but you should at least offer a decent fan in every room... But even that is probably asking too much. You ask the service and they say that the hotel doesn't have enough fans and that they should clarify it with the boss first... Seriously? That really makes you super angry... That night I woke up for the first time at 2 a.m. and couldn't sleep because of the heat. All the windows opened... there wasn't even a fly screen to keep out the mosquitoes... Then you wake up right at 3:28 a.m. because a truck comes and wakes you up with the crash and the light shining in the windows. Then you have to get up at 6 a.m. because you have an appointment the next day... So I had no sleep at all that night. Just terrible!!!No offense, but I've been to numerous 3 star hotels and they all had air conditioning, super friendly service and usually even better breakfast... so it's an absolute disgrace for this 4 star hotel. As a woman who likes to put on make-up, the light is really dim. I found it super uncomfortable and then you seem like a crazy person in the bathroom...So I won't come here anymore, but it's up to each person. I just think it's sad that 4 stars has nothing to offer compared to 3 stars...

We had to spontaneously find a new hotel because the previous one was an absolute disaster and we found it here.Staff super friendly and attentive. Hotel very clean and not noisy. The only little thing we missed when the outside temperature was 32 degrees was air conditioning. However, we were provided with a fan immediately upon request. The staff there was great too.
