The staff is not friendly. They refused to show the number and did not give the manager's contact. I don't recommend this place

as i am writing this review, it is september 13th. there has been obnoxiously loud music going on for hours and hours late at night, disrupting not only my sleep but also many other guest’s sleep. this has been going on for days. this has been a terrible experience and i really hope the owner of pondok prapen does not allow further loud music from playing late at night ever again

The room is beautiful, ventilated, with air, the bathroom is clean and made of stone, breakfast is served every morning whatever you choose and at the time you request. It is a 15' walk from the main avenue with some restaurants along the way. We arrived by car, but it can't leave you at the door because there is a car stop 50 meters before the accommodation, but it is super good, quiet, quiet, with a view of plantations. They cleaned every day and left us bottles of water.

Absolute hidden gem in the middle of trees and banana plantations. About a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of town , street markets , art and crafts market and Ubud palace , 25 mins walk back up the hill perhaps 🀭.Spent my first three nights in Bali here .Kadek , his father and his brothers run the whole place which consists of individual huts so it’s peaceful with your own private balcony through the bedroom , disconnected to anybody else with a kitchen area and fridge out there. On the other side of your room there’s another balcony with steps which you exit via and this is where they leave your toast eggs and tea /coffee every morning at whichever time you request! They kindly gave me milk so I could have my English tea . I would have loved a kettle in my kitchen area but you can’t have it all! Also the pool id seen in photos is only attached to the private Villa bungalow so might be worth getting if you’re a family.I was solo so very happy with my four poster double bed with mosquito net , didn’t get bitten once ! Would for sure return to this peaceful oasis .Every night at the palace down the hill there was a traditional outdoors dance show for 100 rupiahs (Β£5) I really recommend to feel the culture and magic of this charming area.Monkey forest is about half hour walk so I’d recommend a taxi or bike to pick you up which costs about Β£1. Leave your bags at home and the monkeys won’t bother you. Also don’t wear a swishy long wrap dress to the monkey forest as I did, big mistake as they were all fascinated tugging at it and trying to undo it / go under it.Anything dangly leave at home if going to monkey forest , but it’s only an issue within that monkey area which is 5-10 mins drive away , I didn’t see any monkeys near the palace or this part of town so you don’t have to be on guard here which was nice , as I was totally harassed at another hotel by a territorial male monkey. Was all part of the experience though .Absolutely loved Ubud as a solo traveller🀍

We had a great stay! Everything was as we expected and more; really friendly and lovely staff who were accomodating of our requests; the view from our room was amazing; breakfast was consistently good; location is inward enough in the alley to avoid traffic noise yet still walkable to the heart of Ubud.
