Reality versus picture.Works just opposite, the forest has been razed.The construction guys have a wonderful view of the swimming pool.

Raka House is a great, simple homestay in the middle of Ubud. It's quiet and peaceful, run by a nice guy, the rooms are perfectly fine and the pool is small but nice. The only minus was that they prepared breakfast a little late on the one day we were to travel, but they were very nice and we highly recommend them.

The place is good for the price it offers, it is difficult to find someone at the reception, we did not have toilet paper and I don't know if the sheets were that clean. The rest of the breakfast was very good.

Do not waste your time and money. I try not to leave bad reviews, unless it is a public announcement to help others decide.There are ants crawling all over the floor, bed, and tables. They crawled right into my laptop (see video with this review).There are mosquitoes buzzing in your ear at night while you are sleeping, that wake you right up, or make you sleep half awake to try to avoid getting bitten.The pool has murky water, and it is small. I dare not go in it in fear of my skin being infected (see photos attached).There is no water or toilet paper provided upon arrival. You can see my photo attached (literally an empty toilet paper roll).There are no electric outlets in the room. There is one single electric outlet in the bathroom, where I had to charge my laptop, phone, other electronic devices beside the sink.I gave a good rating to service, because Ayu/Esa was understanding and allowed me to amend my booking from 3 nights to 1 night. I stayed one night, and immediately checked out the next morning. The accommodation conditions are absolutely horrific and unacceptable.

It's really friendly, the location is great, and the breakfast is delicious. The lighting in the room is dark and there are not enough outlets, but I stayed comfortably at a reasonable price.

Let's start with the fact that we arrived in the early hours of the morning, and at no point were we asked for any type of identification, to make sure we were the people on the reservation.We arrived at the room, besides being dirty, there was even blood on the sheets, there wasn't even a bottle of water.As for breakfast, there were only two days out of five that we were asked if we wanted it. In other words, it’s only when they feel like it.The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and so does the service.There were monkeys every day on the balconies, as the breakfast dishes due to laziness were only picked up at the end of the day, of course, the monkeys stole the food that was left. I confess that it makes me confused to think that after the monkeys eat from the plates and cups, will it be properly sanitized?!It's a beautiful space, but very poorly used and cared for, it's a shame.

Good location and good serviceThere were too many mosquitoesI don't know how many dozen they caught per day.The good news is that mosquitoes have no energy, so they can be caught easily.I was in pain because of the mosquitoes.

Smiling and warm welcome at all times. We arrived at midnight, there was someone to welcome us. The family took great care of us. Thank you all for everything. The room is a little spartan but pleasant with its terrace and view of a fish pond and beautiful plants. Perfectly located in the heart of Ubud. We recommend this place, a haven of peace.

I really enjoyed my stay here! It was exceeded my expectations, as the price is so low, I wasn’t expecting much, but this place has all you need and more! I loved having the small pool to cool down in, and free breakfast and coffee was an added bonus! The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location is on a quiet side street so you aren’t bothered with the sounds of motorcycles and bars, but you are still right off Dewi Sita so can still walk everywhere in town!The family who owns this guesthouse is very friendly and made my stay feel like a true a guesthouse experience!! I would stay here again if I revisit ubud!

The price is so cheap, but why is the room so nice, why is the breakfast so good, and why is the swimming pool so nice? I will definitely come here when I come to Ubud. They are so friendly.

I don't like leaving bad reviews unless it's entirely justified. This isn't a bad review, more of a honest experience/ preference summary.Firstly the positives:I am very aware of how little I paid for this room so I don't expect luxury at all. The owners seemed very kind & interested where I was going out to visit as a tourist each day, we were offered breakfast (banana pancakes but as one of us doesn't like bananas, there wasn't anything else on offer), we were offered green tea each day. The AC & ceiling fan worked fine. The pool was small / kinda run down but looked hygienic. A fridge in room was provided. This location was just a 5-10 min walk from UBUD amenities but the hotel is down a narrow street that I'm assuming could be slightly difficult to locate at first.Improvements:No provided toilet paper (needed to ask a few times), the bedsheets seem to have a few stains, the mattress springs were practically bursting out the surface, the bath towels had holes in them. No shower gel or bottled water provided.
