The room was dingy. Dinner quite good, but quite greasy. However, service at dinner was very accommodating and the beer was very good. Breakfast... went like this.

We had the unique experience here of persuading the friendly staff to make us some fries and salad at 8pm because we thought it would be lovely to explore the town at sunset and grab a spontaneous dinner near the castle after looking at some options. Well, anyone who visits this area should be aware that all restaurants close at 7:30pm even on weekends, and Google needs to update their opening hours to reflect this. There are no grocery stores or takeout either, so we were very grateful to the staff of this hotel for saving the first night of our vacation with some sustenance, even though they weren’t able to provide any meat or cheese. They overcharged somewhat for the simple salads and added an extra glass of wine to the bill, but I wasn’t in the mood to argue after the goodwill we were shown while the kitchen was clearly being scrubbed down. So I can’t comment on a regular stay but wanted to acknowledge the staff‘s willingness to help. Location is central and it seems to be the only place serving drinks after 8pm. The food was freshly made and definitely not leftovers.

Unfortunately not open in the evening and the beer garden is also cordoned off. There's probably a lack of staff!?

We were there for dinner and not in the hotel. The service had been good. The map is very clear and only one page, which means the selection is very limited. Especially when it comes to desserts, the selection could be larger as there is only iced coffee, ice cream or avocado. The food tasted very good and the prices were reasonable. Once you're here, it's worth a visit.

We had a very tasty dinner there. Even though the kitchen was actually closed, we were still able to order something. The tenants and the staff are very friendly and could tell us a lot about the place and its history. In the beer garden you can sit beautifully under the chestnut trees with a view of Hohenstein Castle. We will be back definitely.

-Location very centrally located-Staff very friendly but not professional-Dinner was inexpensive and deliciousBUT-Unfortunately the room was not clean (hair in the drain, toilet rim not clean and many other little things)- The zippers on every bed linen were broken, the bed linen was made of polyester- Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn't good at all compared to other hotels (some of the baked rolls were burnt, the hand fruit was anything but fresh) and the selection was really disappointingly small.
