The pool is very nice, the breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly and helps with everything.Monkeys sometimes come by at night, but that's not a bad thing.

Great location, quiet, good pool. Unfortunately, the room is lacking. Bed too soft and creaky, no mattress cover, stains in the bedspread, unpleasant odor in the towels and pillows. The bathroom also leaves a lot to be desired (sink drains to floor, nowhere to put your toothbrush, no TP holder), overall needs upkeep and a proper deep clean. Wifi was sometimes a struggle, not suitable for remote workers.Near the Monkey Forest, so, expect monkeys. Just lock the door and it's fine, I actually enjoyed that part of the experience :)

I'm giving it a 1 because I can't give a zero. Even though the location is great and the service was not at fault, I don't know how anyone could be offered such a terrible, smelly and dirty room with mold. It was written that the room was standard, but it was not any standard.

We had a really Nice stay at Merthayasa bungalows. The owners are such really nice persons, really friendly and carefully with the guests.The place is really close to the Monkey Forest which bring some monkeys in the garden and we need to be careful with the food and belongings outside.The rooms are good for the price. AC + celling fan. The breakfast is perfect, with several choices.Suksema for the stay

Merthayasa Bungalows is hidden gem in the center of Ubud. For this amount of money - to be on the main street, but not really hearing it, having nice pool, clean room with AC and kind, lovely people working there.It is simple, but nice. We stayed there for 3 nights and we loved it.And yes - it is close to monkey forest so it is normal that sometimes monkeys come around. Keep things inside (not on the balcony) and every morning around 6am open curtains of the room - you will see monkeys running and playing around. so cute!Thank you, we’ll come back!!

I booked a room for 4 nights. I arrived the night before Nyepi, I was in communication with them way before I arrive to ask if they have an airport pickup. They were very helpful and was able to find me a driver. I was able to watch some Ogoh-ogoh parade on the way there. The place was clean and got the room at a very affordable price. The staff there, Wayan and Ketuk, were very friendly and kind. They served breakfast on each room every day, very delicious. There are monkeys lurking around every day so be mindful of your food and keep your room door shut everytime cause they go inside to steal foods. It was entertaining watching the monkeys and the staff. I would come back again.

Good experience at this place. The only thing for the 4 stars was that by Agoda I booked an AC room and it was not real. It was only a fan. But anyway the staff is really kind, the pool was so clean and I could swim even in the night. The room is so spacious and with nice terrace. Be careful about monkeys! And close the door always! The breakfast was normal, for me can be better, anyway good milk coffee! If you don't hear any noise from the main road you must choose another option. Enjoy it!

Really loved staying there. As a backpacker with low budget it was simply perfect !We booked 3 nights and extended an other night because we were happy here ! The room is clean and the owner made our bed and clean a little bit around everyday. It was a huge +. The bed is extremely comfy and enough big. The bathroom is quiet big and we always had hot water. The terrasse is cute to have your breakfast and a nice view on the cute pool. Owners are always there to answer your question and are really welcoming ! They have scooter for rent as well. Only down sides is the breakfast that was not wow but still nice to have it in the morning without having to go out. Theirs no water or anything on site. The pool dosent have lights so for swimming at night it’s not the ideal but during the day it’s nice, quiet, clean and welcoming. Wifi wasn’t good in the room but good on the terrasse.Be carful of monkey don’t leave any food outside, even when you go swim don’t leave your fruity drink, they will come for it for sure. (They stole ours) but your near the monkey forest so that’s normal… The place is surrounding by nature and it’s CLEAN ! I recommended it and will come back for sure.

A certain travel site said it had air conditioning, so I stayed in the cheapest standard room. However, in reality, there was no air conditioning, just a fan that spun unreliably.The only equipment in the room is a bath towel and a small bar of soap. There seem to be many different hotels around the area for the same price (I actually went to look at several hotels).I asked if they could change me to a room with air conditioning, but they offered me a price that was more than double the amount I had booked. The staff grinned and told us that we should just cool off in the pool and fan. When I checked out, I handed over the keys without a single smile. I felt like I should have checked out earlier.Only cleaning is done frequently.It's close to the Monkey Forest, so monkeys come here. It was hot in my room, so I opened the window and went to the pool, but my room was ransacked. There are no screens on the windows. Even though I was inside the room, a monkey came in through the entrance. Even though it was hot inside the room, I couldn't safely open the window.Breakfast was normal, but I felt that the amount of egg dishes was too small.The room is dimly lit at night, making it difficult to read books. A dimly lit room on a hot night can be depressing.Maybe if you stay in a deluxe room, you won't have to experience this...

I had reserved Mertayasa Bungalow 2, but the presence or absence of a refrigerator was determined depending on the room type, so I upgraded the room and re-booked, but I accidentally booked Mertayasa Bungalow 1, so I had no choice but to come.It is the same price as the room with a refrigerator in Mertayasabungalow 2, but room 1 does not have a refrigerator, TV, or even bottled water. Only one shower towel provided. When I used it after replacing it with a shower filter, the filter quickly turned black.Since it is near Monkey Forest, you can easily see monkeys while passing by.Pros: The room is large and clean. The two hosts cleaned diligently and were friendly. Breakfast provided, swimming pool is small but good for playing. The garden is well maintained and a good location for watching monkeys (there are many monkeys climbing on the roof around 7 a.m.). Air conditioner cool.Cons: No amenities including bottled water. The tap water condition is serious (the shower filter turns black in one go). The bed is soft and large, but it sinks in on both sides and is relatively convex in the middle. I was pushed to both ends while sleeping. - However, it may vary from room to room).

Small resort located in Ubud near the Monkey Forest.The entrance is very small and difficult to locate, it has motorcycle parking inside, the rooms lack air conditioning, and the curtains are very thin and if you need darkness to sleep, I do not recommend it because there are 2 windows and a lattice through where light enters. Many mosquitoes due to the vegetation of the complex, it has a swimming pool that is very good with 3 sun loungers, it is very quiet and the service is very pleasant.

Great little place in bustling ubud. The room is simply furnished, bed is on the softer side and feels like a king. Breakfast is delicious but you might need a little extra snack after. The pool is a nice feature after a long hot day exploring. Location is great for food and some sites seeing though the streets are quite busy. Our room didn't hear much of the street noise.You can also rent a scooter from them and book tours too.
