Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and Unresponsive StaffI recently stayed at this hotel in Heidelberg, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. When I returned to my room after a day out, I found it clean, but there were no towels or shampoo provided. I tried contacting the reception for assistance, but no one answered. I even went to the reception desk in person, only to find it unattended, with just a phone number to call. When I called the number, the person I spoke to assured me that someone would bring the towels and other essentials. After waiting for more than half an hour, no one arrived. I tried calling again, but this time, there was no response at all. Moreover, I don't really know, what the embloyees understand from DND! I hung it on the door knop, and the houskeeping just opened the door in the morning when we were on the bed ignoring the "don't disturb" sign !!!This level of service is unacceptable for any hotel. It’s frustrating to not have basic amenities like towels and shampoo, and even more so to be ignored when trying to resolve the issue. I expected much better, especially considering the cost of the stay. I won’t be returning and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and responsive service.

Be careful not booking in the Annex - the room is ok-ish (though missing one external window and one radiator not functioning), but otherwise it's hell: the bed moves when the tram passes -no sleep outside of 01.00 to 6.30- and there is a bar/pub 2 floors below (forget about sleeping on Fridays and Saturdays). In a nutshell : hell.

The TVs don't really work. Called several times and asked to do something. Nothing happens. Rooms are not cleaned! Honestly, why am I actually paying so much money? ??? Once and never again! And I can only advise people who read the reviews: look for another hotel!!!! And if the hotel management ever reads it themselves, then the many bad reviews should open your eyes so that you can change something about it!

Booked the room online the day before and called to be on the safe side. When I arrived I would be sent to the hotel opposite because everything in the booked hotel was full. Never mind, I thought to myself. …

Good old-fashioned German hotel directly on Bismarckplatz at one end of the pedestrian zone. Didn't eat breakfast in the hotel...too expensive, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby with more reasonable prices. And Heidelberg is a gem! Spared the destruction of WWII, and even with the woes of mass tourism, it's still a place where people live, work, go to school and enjoy life.

It was good for my business trip. But if you want to enjoy the stay this hotel is not the place. The room had just the basic. No fridge or coffee maker or water boiler. No iron or anything extra that can make it fun to stay in.

Something went wrong with our booking, there were four of us, but we only had beds for two. After some back and forth, an extra bed came in, which is okay, but we were informed that they were suffering from a lack of staff and it was difficult... When I arrived I would have expected a full minibar, the fridge unplugged, you couldn't cool drinks .... Air conditioning broken, the rooms were really hot, sleep was impossible for the first half of the night. You have breakfast downstairs in the basement, there is a smell of smoke everywhere in the hallways, and annoyed service staff. Another whopping €16 extra for parking... We thought we were treating ourselves to something really great with this hotel, but nothing happened. If, as the name suggests, you expect tradition, etiquette and service, you've come to the wrong place.
