After a week-long school trip, all you can really say is: this is one of the best youth hostels for school trips.The food was rich and varied every day and there was something for everyone in the class (a novelty).The staff was super friendly and the children's special requests were always met with a smile.The location a little outside, but with direct access to the beach, is really great and you can get to Stralsund quickly and reliably with the bus in front of the door.

Not recommended.Moldy and dirty rooms and bathrooms, very unfriendly staff, little and poor choice of food.The only positive thing is the beach right next to the youth hostel.Wouldn't voluntarily go here again.

We stayed here for two nights - the accommodation was ok.The accommodation is beautifully situated in the countryside on the banks of the Strelasund with a view of the island of Rügen. With the RE you are fromStralsund train station in Binz in just under an hour - there is a very beautiful and clean Baltic Sea beach! Highly recommended!In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is also not good.The village-like complex is very worn out. Our house, which is more of a mid-ager, was noisy and definitely needs a coat of paint.The apartment (2 bunk beds) was quite tight for two people. The rungs of the bed ladder painful.What bothered me was that we had no soap or small towels in the room and had to take the washed laundry across the square to the laundry room. Likewise the garbage.They may be small things, but for over €80 a night...The stay had more of a holiday camp feel.The breakfast was ok, everything the standard taste likes... except for the baked rolls...We decided not to offer any other food.

A few days ago we went on vacation to the youth hostel with a group of children and it was very nice. The staff is very nice and tries hard to implement requests if possible. The rooms are a reasonable size and were clean. The toilet and shower were also clean. The food was also good and plentiful. There was always a beautifully presented buffet with enough choice. A salad bar, several types of sausage and cheese, and for breakfast in addition to rolls, bread, yoghurt with fresh fruit, cornflakes and muesli. Everything was there. The kitchen staff was also very nice and helpful.The complex is very nicely located, you can be in the city center in 10 minutes. A volleyball court, as well as a small playground and a soccer field are also available. There are also several accesses to the water. We would love to come back and really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the youth hostel for three nights as a family. The rooms are very different: at first we were in a tiny, extremely noisy three-bed room (with very loud neighbors) - that was an extremely negative start to the stay. On the second day we were able to change rooms and were then in a spacious four-bed room with a balcony. The employees were all very nice, breakfast was totally ok too. The location on the beach was great.All in all, I don't think the price-performance ratio is right. 130 euros/night... For that you get a room in a guesthouse without having to make beds, bring towels, with a double bed instead of a bunk bed, certainly much quieter, etc. Too expensive for a youth hostel.

We chose the DJH Stralsund to slow down the journey to the island of Hiddensee. Once we arrived at the site, we had to briefly orientate ourselves, but it worked well. The area itself is spacious and green. The building with the reception could be so much more, the room is designed quite carelessly and without ideas. A play area/lounge can be seen in some parts, but there is more! The so-called family room was bright, clean and spacious, but I find 2 bunk beds as a family room inappropriate. Overall, the DJH has to think about what they declare as family rooms and set up criteria. The path to the beach is great, but there is a completely overflowing trash can and garbage lying around. Maybe it's public land, maybe, but then you have to seek contact with the community, because that was really disgusting. The breakfast was ok, but again quite bland. The dining room is actually so beautiful, but because of the buffet layout you can hardly see the beautiful picture of Stralsund. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all. This youth hostel was one of the most expensive we have ever visited (4 p./150€ night). Please exchange ideas with other youth hostels and improve them, as there is incredible potential in this area.

I can't understand the negative reviews, the rooms are clean, the facility is very nice, especially with children or teenagers. Lots of bottles to play with and the beach access is right at the house, not far away is the bus stop where you can go directly to the center, otherwise lots of forest and nature.The dinner was very good and you could get seconds, warm food, buffet with salad, etc., bread, cheese, sausage and dessert.I can't say breakfast yet, we only arrived today.There are other cyclists here with us, as well as groups, it's now 9:30 p.m. and it's completely quiet hereHad a delicious breakfast this morning, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, everything was coffee, tea, juice, milk, rolls, bread, crispbread, etc., sausage, cheese, quark, fruitstrawberries, grapes etc,I can only recommend the JHB and we would love to come back. Unfortunately our trip continues tomorrow.

The location is one of the best you can imagine for a youth hostel.DIRECT access to the water - absolutely nothing between the hostel and the beach (which is also great)!The grounds are very beautiful and you feel comfortable.When it came to the bike garage, we were a little worried that it wouldn't be too easy to open...Very friendly staff!Unfortunately there is a real deduction for the room.Because what we were in was MUCH too “clairaudient”. With the room door closed + the bathroom door closed with the hallway in between, every single word was more or less clearly understandable. After every oh-so-small noise, you could hear a thick reverberation filling the hallway. Unpleasant and disruptive for everyone involved.However, it may well be that this is not the case for all rooms, as this hostel consists of many different buildings…Overall, a recommendable youth hostel.

Under no circumstances book!!! Last summer I visited the youth hostel with my family and was shocked. Thanks to the expensive price (overpriced) we thought we would get a nice place to stay. But it was terrible. There were spiders everywhere (about 25 in our room) and when I woke up on the first day there was one over my head. The rooms were dirty. Because the food wasn't enough and there wasn't a nice dining room, it's by far the worst youth hostel I've ever visited (and I've visited a lot of youth hostels). Please strongly advise against purchasing!

right by the sea with a small sandy beach, but there is nothing else nearby and you need a car. You can receive dinner (no selection, no self-service) or decline it due to the quality and help yourself to the cold buffet. Have had the worst dinner and breakfast in a youth hostel so far - the price-performance ratio is not right at all. Very small, noisy rooms with poor facilities (neon tubes as reading lamps, 1 socket for rooms of 4, no shelf in the bathroom, 1 rubbish bin/bag, although your own rubbish has to be transported widely across the premises on departure and then sorted...)

The youth hostel is highly recommended if you prefer and want something quiet and secluded. The rooms are quite good, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is reasonably clean. However, you still have to clean and sweep the room yourself on the day of departure. The food is relatively okay, you can only choose one warm dish in the evening otherwise you have to resort to the cold buffet... The (kitchen) staff that distributes the warm food is very unfriendly and reacts very snippy to a comment. There were at least four evenings Twice we found a black hair in the food and we immediately went to the kitchen staff and reported it. The reaction to this was very snappy and it was immediately denied because there were supposedly no people in the kitchen who had black hair, one of mine or my friends' hair It couldn't be personally because we have long blonde hair and the hair was short, curly and black. The cold buffet is still very tasty.
