Even 3-star hotels can do this better. Room dirty and moldy. Towels are always replaced, whether they are on the floor or hanging on the rack. Room furnishings are spartan. Breakfast is ok.

We had an unforgettable stay at the Altstadt Kasererbrawu hotel in Salzburg! The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore the citys charm. The hotel itself is full of character, blending historic elegance with modern comfort. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered a stunning view of the castle. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay, always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh, local options. Inside the hotel is one of the oldest cinemas in the world, where you can watch newly released movies. We can’t recommend the hotel enough for anyone visiting Salzburg!

I only know the cinema, an institution as long as there have been cinemas, so I think you will also feel comfortable in the hotel.

I stayed 4 nights at the Kasererbraeu in Sep-Oct 2024 and had a wonderful stay. It has so much character as befits a city like Salzburg. The location can't be beat fie exploring the Old Town, with all the key sights and sites easily walkable, as well as plenty of great restaurants serving local cuisine. The breakfast buffet was ample and consistent with those I have had at a variety of quality hotels in Europe. My room was very clean and well laid out to make great use of the space. The room was bright and comfortable with plenty of hot water, good water pressure and fast wifi. The bed was small, as expected, but the mattress was so very comfy - much more than I expected! As others noted, there is no A/C but at this time if year it wasn't an issue. IbMy interactions with staff were minimal as I had no cause to engage but they were all very pleasant and effective. If I get back to Salzburg - and I hope I do - I would indeed come back and stay at the Kasererbraeu.

Honestly how this hotel is rated 4 stars is beyond me. ||We had a ‘junior suite’ & yes, there were separate bedrooms for my son & ourselves. However the room was rundown & worn, unlike the web site photos. …

In the middle of the old town, therefore quietly located!Parking in the €17 per night parking garage is mandatory!Beautiful 4 star hotel with integrated cinema and attached restaurant!Very stylish! No coffee or tea facilities in the room and no mini bar! However, the friendliness of the staff could still be improved a lot!Only met one good-humored and smiling gentleman at check out!

We booked the suite for just under a week. The location of the hotel and parking lot is very good, but I wouldn't come here a second time.Breakfast offering is not breathtaking but completely sufficient. However, 3 stars for me.WiFi is available, but it's not even enough for WhatsApp. Ridiculous for a 4-star hotel these days. The bed is very cheap and rickety for a suite. The service/staff is the biggest problem. With the exception of the caretaker, you can tell that many of the employees don't want to work and are totally annoyed. There is no holiday feeling. In the best case scenario, you should only speak to the staff very little and thus avoid the whole thing. At the beginning we had 2 mattresses in the bed that were very different heights. Had a really bad night's sleep. The employees had to be informed or reminded 3 times that the same mattresses should be used in the bed as in all other hotels. That went on for 2 days (1/3 of the vacation over).Next topic… The cover of the blanket was approx. 110 cm wide. The ceiling inside is normal 140 cm. Asking/pointing out 4 times that the salaries should be the same wasn't enough. After the 4th time we gave up and just accepted it and sat out. It's crappy to sleep with such a small blanket. When it comes to incompetence, from reception to room service, it's hard to beat. Nobody feels responsible and with my statement: “If the guest comes here for the fourth time and you at the reception write down the point for the fourth time, you should perhaps go into the room and check the work of the others afterward it was forwarded again.” The answer was “That’s not my job.”As a result, we didn't sleep one night on vacation as expected. The staff at the Altstadthotel did not manage to replace the bed covers as instructed in 6 days. The simplest processes don't work. A single tragedy!*CONCLUSION*So if you're lucky with the room from the start, your stay should be okay. The windows are very noise-reducing and the whirlpool tub in the room is very nice. The parking lot in the old town and the location of the hotel are great. However, if you rely on the staff/employees, you are lost.
