Renovation work is currently underway, most of the facade has been painted yellow and doors have been replaced. The rooms visible from the outside were empty or had not changed, the same applies to the restaurant and bar. There is scrap and rubbish lying around the entire area and the outbuilding has partially collapsed.According to several travel providers, the hotel is scheduled to reopen in January 2025, but that seems impossible with the current condition.

The location above Goslar in the middle of a beautiful hiking area is ideal. Because of the nearby bus stop you can almost just walk down to Goslar and then take the bus back. The hotel is very large, but offers plenty of free parking spaces. There is also a paid underground car park.It is difficult to give a general rating for this hotel. In fact, there is a big renovation backlog, especially when it comes to the rooms. For some it's a nostalgic trip to the 70s or 80s. Others find the rooms rather unreasonable. Admittedly, I have never seen such strangely designed single rooms in my life. The double rooms are very spacious and some also have a nice view. There was little reason for criticism regarding cleanliness and the bedding and mattresses were also good. The Sunotel Kreuzeck can only be booked with an all-inclusive service. For room, breakfast, small lunch buffet, afternoon coffee and cake, and large evening buffet, you pay just 100 euros for 2 people in a double room. And soft drinks, beer and wine are also included from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.If you deduct food and drinks, you pay a maximum of 20 - 30 euros for the rooms. And the return is more than just ok.Of course it would be nice if the pool (approx. 17m) and wellness were also open. Before that happens, there will definitely be some renovation work...I would happily stay here again at any time - even if I did laugh at one or two things in the rooms. However, I still enjoyed my stay and the price-performance ratio is hard to beat!

We were in the hotel from August 19th to August 23rd, 2020 and the only thing that was really positive was the hotel staff. The hotel is very old. The bathroom is totally 70s style, there are water stains on the walls. So for 1200 euros I can probably expect more. So we won't be vacationing in this hotel anymore. Demolition is probably better than renovation.

The room, food and cleanliness of the hotel were good. But not suitable for wellness as the swimming pool and water were not heated for cost reasons. We are not that good on foot and decided on a sauna and swimming pool. Since we could only use the sauna, we left a day early. WiFi didn't work either.

The room was big. Food very good. A super friendly and helpful staff, especially in the dining room. The hotel is beautifully located in the forest, it was quiet.
