As nice, accommodating and friendly as the receptionist was, I left straight away after 20 minutes. The room: tiny, very old and the furnishings, as others report, are from a time long gone.I could probably have lived with the mattress, but what is not possible at all is the pet-unfriendliness of the management.I had previously said that I was traveling with two dogs and had paid a hefty price per night for them (why bed tax for animals?!).There was a note on the bed saying that I would have to pay for the bed linen and sheets if they were dirty. It doesn't work at all!Either I allow animals and then charge a fee for the additional cleaning costs or I ban animals.I travel a lot with my dogs and I've never seen anything like this! And certainly not justified for such an unsightly room.

The Solitaire, a hotel with 90s charm, presents itself very differently in person than in the photos (these appear to be from better times) on the booking portals. The atrium alone gives you the feeling of having arrived in a “snake farm”. Apart from the layers of dust (could it be Saharan dust???), the ornate railings and the roof tiles of a Mediterranean roof overhang, there is potential. The breakfast buffet is carelessly put together and the food could all be from a discounter. Nothing is prepared, no scrambled eggs, horseradish, grains for the oatmeal or other appetizing things are completely missing. The service isn't great either. When asked to change rooms from the street to the back due to personal sleeping problems (even though not all the rooms ordered were yet occupied), no effort was made and no solution was sought. We should have stayed in the car straight away because we couldn't sleep due to the street noise even with the windows closed. The double bed with a total width of 1.80 m and the sagging mattresses is also not conducive to a good night's sleep.

We booked the accommodation for 17th to 20th July 2024 via booking.com .Unfortunately we got corona virus and felt sick and couldn’t travel . We cancelled our reservation and informed the hotel. But they still charged us almost for all 3 nights , which was not a little money . We tried to explain that we do not get charged, but hotel did reply that we contact booking.com . Booking.com service people , after 5, 6 call told me I have to call hotel directly. So neither of those 2 helped us . Maybe we had to travel with fever and spread the virus in breakfast room? Therefore I wrote here that the service is very poor and when you really have an issue, no help .
