Hotel “Mensch in Berlin Karlshorst” – An excellent choice for a quiet and pleasant stayI had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel “Mensch” in Berlin Karlshorst on Ehrlichstrasse, and I can say with full conviction that it was a completely successful stay. From the first to the last minute I felt like I was in good hands and experienced a great mix of comfort, friendliness and peace. For anyone looking for peaceful accommodation in Berlin and who values service and accessibility, this hotel is definitely an excellent choice.Location and surroundingsThe hotel is located in the quiet and green Karlshorst district, which is characterized by its relaxed atmosphere. Although it is not located directly in the center of Berlin, it offers a perfect balance between quiet surroundings and easy access to the city center. Thanks to nearby public transport, such as the S-Bahn and various bus lines, you can reach all of Berlin's important sights in a short time. If you would like to take things a little quieter, you can take leisurely walks around the hotel and enjoy the charm of this historic district.Rooms and facilitiesWhat I particularly liked was the cleanliness and order throughout the hotel. The room I moved into was in immaculate condition, which is not always a given these days. The furnishings are simple but functional and modern. The comfortable bed was particularly pleasant and ensured a restful sleep after a long day in the city. The bathroom was also very clean and functional - no unnecessary frills, but everything you need to feel comfortable. One of the most outstanding features of the hotel is that it is completely barrier-free. Every room and all public areas are wheelchair accessible. This means that the hotel is ideal for people with reduced mobility. Wide doors, walk-in showers and easily accessible light switches and sockets are just some of the amenities that underline this aspect. It is a pleasure to see that accessibility is not just a buzzword here, but has actually been consistently implemented.Breakfast – A good start to the dayBreakfast was a real highlight of the stay for me. It is served in a bright and friendly dining room, which offers a pleasant atmosphere for a relaxed start to the day. The selection at the buffet was extensive and fresh. From fresh bread and rolls to various types of cold cuts and cheese, as well as muesli, yoghurt and fresh fruit – there was something for every taste. The quality of the products on offer, which were always fresh and attractively presented, was particularly commendable. Warm dishes, such as scrambled eggs and bacon, were also offered and ensured physical well-being. What also had a positive impact on the breakfast experience was the attentive service. The staff were always on hand to fulfill requests and the tables were cleared quickly and efficiently.Staff – friendliness and willingness to serveThe staff at the Hotel “Mensch” was another big plus point of my stay. I was warmly welcomed at check-in and all my questions were answered in a friendly and competent manner. Throughout my stay, all of the staff always greeted me with a smile and were always willing to help with any problems or concerns. I also received prompt and friendly support when I requested additional towels or information about attractions in the area. This personal and courteous service made a significant contribution to making me feel very comfortable and welcome in this hotel.

I can't say anything about the rooms, as we only dined there repeatedly with good care and support in the planning with many guests. The table decoration was planned with a lot of love together with the boss and implemented perfectly. The atmosphere is invitingly open and yet away from everyday business. The only point that can be made better: either get warm food to the table more quickly or preheat the plates. Even if it is lukewarm, a point is deducted for the most delicious food. ;)

The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes walk from Karlshorst train station (alternatively by tram in 5 minutes), where the S-Bahn runs every 10 minutes to the city center. Unfortunately, the check in time was given incorrectly by Check24, which disrupted my planning. Luckily the friendly employee called me and waited an extra hour for me. Thanks for that! However, the hotel should urgently ensure that the information on external portals is correct!Unfortunately the room smelled extremely like men's deodorant. Even by airing it out, the smell hardly went away. Otherwise the room was okay and functional.

I spent a long weekend in the hotel.I booked there because the hotel is not located directly in the center of Berlin, but can be reached easily, quickly and easily by train/tram. In 30 minutes I was in Berlin Mitte. The price ratio was just right for me and since I was out and about all day, I don't have too many demands.I thought it was great that I was allowed to bring my little dog with me without any problems. The rooms are simply furnished - absolutely okay for me. The only thing I would have really liked was a small fridge and a kettle to make your own coffee/tea.On the first day I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Price: €12, coffee is included.Unfortunately that didn't appeal to me at all. There was a choice - yes, but it didn't look attractive or clean for my taste. I'm also someone who eats a very healthy breakfast. Unfortunately there was only sugar cornflakes and no oatmeal. Natural yoghurt was only available in prepared mini-Weck glasses, which is not really helpful for preparing muesli. The cutlery had water stains, which seemed somehow “unclean”. The fruit was pre-cut and presented on a platter. Since fruit browns quickly, it didn't look very appetizing. I would have found it better to put whole fruit and a bowl of natural yoghurt. There isn't really anything on offer for a vegan/vegetarian diet (spreads, cheese/meat substitutes, etc.).From the second day onwards I only had a cup of coffee at breakfast. In the train stations I was able to stock up on muesli, porridge or fresh fruit for breakfast at “Haferkater” or at the “Yormas” kiosk 😊But I thought it was great that I could take my dog with me to the terrace for morning coffee. It was a shame that there were no ashtrays available on the tables for smokers and you always had to ask for them.Otherwise, it's great that you can easily access the hotel in the evening with your room card by holding it against the sensor at the entrance to the building. My conclusion:I would come back despite the “objectionable” points. In the end, the most important thing for me is that the location, the price and that my dog is welcome are right. There is also a kind of park along the street, which is also great for walking the dog.

I found it quite good, I think the location is excellent. From Berlin Central Station you don't have to change that often to get there and it was suitable for us as we were there for one night for the Petter Fox concert. What was annoying was that in the evening when it got colder, the rooms were warm inside despite the cold outside. The pro is summer in Berlin you sweat and then in the evening it's cooler outside than in your room but I thought it was really nice there and the breakfast was very tasty. We weren't able to try the bar but they had plenty of drinks available. I think Berlin was completely different because we come from Hamburg but I thought it was very nice - there was a tram almost on the doorstep

Nice hotel, large rooms (accessible for disabled people). Parking directly at the hotel if you're lucky and get a space. But quite expensive.
