It was a calm and quiet hostel with friendly staff and guests except one person who was a volunteer staff making my life extremely difficult and unpleasant at the hostel. The volunteer staffs should be vetted for their behaviour and attitude. If I remember correctly, this particular person's name is Nicole, staying in the Photo room, a tall non-Germanic guy. He would speak very rudely to me when I needed to turn on the room light to get my things even though he was already awake. Rather he woke me up on the first day of my arrival by loudly banging dorm room's door early morning while entering/exiting room, while I was so exhausted that I didn't even change or eat after arrival. He doesn't know how to be mindful when others are concerned. On the last day, I had an early morning flight. I had to do some last minute packing having done majority of my packing earlier. I tried my best to be as quiet as possible. He wouldn't let me pack. There was another man in the room too who chose to stay quiet and not get involved. He also had come in around midnight in the room but was not the target of this harassment. Nicole verbally abused me, including in his native language, was aggressive in his speech and was physically threatening in his stance. He mentioned we are constantly coming in and out of the room. He must have had an abusive father where he must be expected to be silent and remain hidden. Even though I had to ensure I packed correctly for security check at airport and be prepared with any document required duting exit at immigration, I was using only my bed's light (since he wouldn't let me turn on room's light even at 9 PM if he was in the room). You can imagine how stressful that already is. Such people (esp volunteers) should be put in the same room and shouldn't be allowed to mix with other guests if this is the attitude they have. Throughout my stay, he was rude to me. In hostels, people come and go at odd hours and still try to maintain a decorum by doing their best to minimize disruption to those sleeping in dorms. (He wasn't even sleeping on most occasions, just lay on bed scrolling on his phone. Most likely he had insomnia and would take out his frustration of not being able to sleep on other people in dorm doing their business.) But if someone wants the dorms to be super quiet at night and activity free, should choose to book private rooms for themselves. Most likely I was targeted because of his misogyny and racism towards non-Europeans. After completing packing, I had almost an hour which I could have used to rest on bed but he had created such a toxic environment due to his presence and acrimonious behaviour that I had to wait in lobby until taxi for international airport arrived. Imagine not getting a wink of sleep with flight delays and disruptions I had to face later. Imagine spending so much money on a trip and leaving for home with such a horrible experience as a last memory of an otherwise wonderful trip. Please vet your volunteer staff using a questionnaire around hostel etiquettes and rules instead of randomly choosing someone just because they are available.

Beautiful cozy hostel. I loved my stay here! It’s in a great location. The room and bathrooms were so cute and very clean. I also really appreciated they had free things like q-tips and cotton pads. It was easy to check in and out and felt very safe. Will definitely come again when I’m back in Berlin.

I really wanted to like this hostel, especially because the single rooms looked so colorful and unique in the pictures, since they all have different paintings on the walls. The rooms are well maintained and the bathrooms are clean. I also like the location and the fact that Aldi is pretty much around the corner.Unfortunately there are 2 things I very much disliked: One, you can hear every sound and therefore sleep is not guaranteed. Let me be clear, I’m not talking about people and their convos, I’ve stayed in loads of hostels and that’s fine by me, also during night hours. The issue in this place is that you can hear every door, every (un)locking of every door all the time as if it happened next to your ear, due to how thin the walls are. I’ve never experienced anything like it. So I do not recommend this hostel (even the single rooms) for people who need sleep.Second, I stayed there in winter and the heater was turned off. I had to ask the staff every day to turn on the heater since you cannot do it on your own. When I checked out, I opened the window a tiny bit so that fresh air can get in. Then I got an email on my private address (which you guys should only use for invoices and stuff, greetings from the DSGVO) saying that I really should not have been this surprised that I was cold at night since my window was open? (Again, I obviously opened it in the morning, why would I open the window when I’m cold af?). Again, never experienced anything like this either. Rude staff that really does not know how to run a hostel or treat its guests obviously. They also called me the night before around 9 PM on my private phone to ask me at what time I will check out.All in all, cute room, good location, but noise and very rude staff overshadowing the entire experience.

Everything is clean and minimalistic - just what I like. The rooms are spacious, even for 8 people. They don't feel crammed.Even though I slept on a 3-bunk bed, it was super comfy. The pillows are large and the mats are soft.I had to wait half an hour for the check-in because apparently it only begins from 17.00.This isn't a huge deal as I could've timed it better, but still it was odd not to have anyone on the reception at earlier time.

We were there this weekend. Booked the farmer room as a couple. The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is lovingly furnished. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is super helpful. Particularly noteworthy are the lovely little details: girls' bathroom with dressing table, hairdryer, free tampons, cotton pads and Q-tips. In the hallway you will find hot water bottles and other free products. It's quiet. The price even included towels. Really a great hostel with a perfect location. ❤️
