We had a private room and it was fine. Breakfast is 12 euro and is just white bread, overly hard boiled eggs and disgusting veggie dishes. The coffee taste like dirty water and is transparent. Don’t bother buying breakfast, go to the bakery out on the main road. Half price, triple the quality.

One star is way too generous! The only positive thing about the hostel is the location, from here you can quickly reach every subway station on foot and there is a Lidl a few doors down. Now let's get to the reasons for my 1⭐️ rating:As soon as we arrived we noticed the elevator (which measures a maximum of one square meter, if at all). Apart from the fact that only three people can use it at the same time, it is incredibly wobbly and you have to wait a long time. The dinner wasn't that great either, especially I wouldn't recommend meat or salad because the meat tastes gristly and the salad didn't contain any sauce but was just wet. The rooms are incredibly warm and you can't get them any cooler with the mini window. We've had the window open all the time for three days and the air neither improves nor does it get even remotely cooler. The shared bathrooms are also unreasonable - they're hot, smelly and of course you can't ventilate there either. Another problem that extremely affects your night's sleep are the thin walls through which you can hear every step on the floor. Although there are signs in the hostel that the cleaner would come every day, that's not true either, and we also found our rooms with unclean bed linen. The worst thing about it is that one morning I wanted to avoid the rickety elevator, so I was walking down the stairs and suddenly I see a painter at work in front of me and then I notice that the railing is suspiciously sticky. He painted the railing. Conclusion: my sweater is messed up and there were no signs anywhere saying that it was being painted. By the way, the painter didn't say a word about his work. The hostel will never see me again and I will warn others about it too.

They dont provide a towel or rental and they want to SELL you a towel for 5 euros. I come to a hostel to do 2 things , sleep and shower. What am i paying for if they don’t even include the most basic services you would expect from any level of accommodation?

We stayed in this youth hostel for our school trip. Our 3 rooms were downstairs, directly off the dining room. The beds were fine, pillows were the best, otherwise our bathroom, so the room I slept in was pleasant, otherwise the other two bathrooms were very bad, small, unhygienic and sticky. The breakfast was okay, a lot of ready things rolls were just baked rolls and some of the staff couldn't speak German (but English which was fine for me) and were in a bad mood. If you had questions you could sometimes wait a long time until the staff was there at the front.Otherwise there are 2 billiard tables that we used often and that are a great way to pass the time if you always have 1 euro for a round. The location is very central to the city and a few hundred meters away you are at a subway station which allows you to get almost everywhere if you want to buy a ticket, which can be expensive. So you could change little things to improve the general feeling, like getting the staff to be friendlier, buying rolls from the bakery because baked rolls just don't taste like anything. Otherwise, renovate the bathrooms and clean them properly after a visit.

The place was overall nice. The room was recently renovated and well kept. The bathrooms could benefit from a renovation. There is no kitchen, but the dining area is very cool, big (I particularly enjoyed the big picnic tables) and well decorated. There is also a nice area outside where you can relax and eat.Would I stay here again? Yes.

Good value for money, comfort, location. Excellent attention

Broken courtesy phone chargers, broken brita machine, no kitchen. Monstrous, multilevel, cavernous, cold mannered, institutional, linoleum floors, boarding school feeling, haunted house looking. I usually am down for a strange time but didn’t like how this place legitimately made me feel like an orphan. I will remember it forever, it was like role playing. I was Harry Potter during his summer stay at the Dursleys. They should considered adding an escape room experience inside cause theyre most of the way there. Lots of scurrying around, thumping, loud noises. I conferred with a roommate who said she just came from Edinburgh (more north) & that hostel didn’t have hot water. I’m acutely aware at all times that things can be worse. Images of the architecture are of St. Clemens church, I will also share photos of the church because they’re lovely.
