At the reception “they had a good journey” which was not the case. When checking out, “you enjoyed your stay with us” “we wish you a safe journey home” was probably asking too much. The inadequate training of cleaning staff was reported in almost every review. We saw with our own eyes how the cleaning lady wiped the floor with a white towel that guests use for showering. Unbelievable. We stayed in this hotel for 5 days, the clouds of dust on the floor in our room accompanied us. Unfortunately, the spa and wellness area has been out of operation since the beginning of April. This was also repeatedly criticized in the reviews. Also a note that if you use the S-Bahn, don't get on at the "Kottbusser Tor" station, which is not safe at a late hour. If you pay 130 euros per person for an overnight stay with breakfast in a 4 star hotel then you should be able to ask for a lot more. Also in Berlin. The aim here is to achieve maximum profit with the least possible effort. Finally, something positive: the breakfast was ok, the staff at the breakfast counter were nice and accommodating.

The room wasn't cleaned at all and the air conditioning is very loud. Even in the bathroom they didn't even bother to hang the shower curtain completely. The breakfast buffet isn't worth it at all for 19 EUR; the buffet was already more or less empty at 8:30 a.m.The location is great and the staff is super friendly.

Very nice hotel, ideally located in Berlin, 3 minutes to the Hallesches Tor subway.The business room was very large and spacious, with a desk, sofa and window seat!! Everything was very clean and new, the toilet was separated by a sliding door.Breakfast also had everything your heart could desire, small but nice!We would book again.

I thought the hotel room was nice, the room was quite big (even though looking at the fire escape map it was the smallest room on the floor). It had room for two suitcases to be opened and a small desk with a pod machine. It didn’t have a fridge. The bathroom was also a decent size, but the shower had quite a lot of black mould.Service was fine, and the staff were helpful locating places and explaining where to find things. The one problem I had was when you were in the lobby, it felt like the service staff didn’t want you to be there. I have stayed at other hotels where the lobby was such a bustling hub of people. Here, it’s tumble weeds during the day, and I don’t feel like the staff want you there.The wifi was a bit dodgy, so if you don’t plan on having an EU sim, you might face some troubles accessing the internet.Location is good, it is close to some stations like Prinzenstraße (about 500m/10min walk) and some key sites, like checkpoint Charlie, the Jewish memorial and Brandenburg gate.

The hotel itself is fine. Nothing special but it’s fine. The room was simple, with no kettle or fridge. It was mostly really clean but the shower had some mould. One good thing about the room was that there is space for a suitcase and clothes.The staff acted friendly but it felt forced. I felt uncomfortable during almost every interaction with them.Usually at hotels, I love sitting in the lobby with a coffee, chatting to friends etc. But spending any time in the lobby at Hotel The Yard felt very uncomfortable, like I was being watched at all times.Note, there is no laundromat nearby and washing at the hotel is very expensive.

Beautiful hotel, large room, nice staff.We were missing a fridge and the beds are actually 2 single beds so we can't cuddle because they always come apart and only have a mini window to open. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable and would come back.

I spent a week at the hotel and booked a business room as I was planning to work from here most of the time. The internet was down for the whole week and the staff didn’t seem to care or provide any updates on when it would be fixed. No alternatives were provided and no compensation was offered (I had to use my mobile data the whole time). My brother works in the hotel / hostel industry in Berlin and will spread to word about the lack of understanding and poor customer service provided. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back.

For your own convenience and money’s worth, don’t stay at this hotel. Wifi was down the entire time we stayed and the staff simply told us it wouldn’t be fixed anytime soon. As you can imagine, that was really inconvenient. It’s also really far out of the main city centre. Room was the only passable thing as there was close to no customer service there. Definitely won’t be returning.

Peaceful location and nice room, and the desk staff were nice enough, but really disappointed that we weren’t notified in advance that neither was wifi working (this went on for over 2 days) nor the gym available for the entire month. This means I paid separately for additional data or to visit cafés to use WiFi, and to go to gyms. No discount was offered, despite these basic expectations not being met. Feel like we paid $220/night for a $120 experience.

The service needs to be optimized.If you depart earlier before breakfast time, no lunch package will be offered.The coffee to take away was possible but with the purchase of a cup of Togo for 5 euros!You are not allowed to use the coffee machine yourself, very strange.In addition, the staff at the reception were not well informed about payment, but were very unfriendly.The room facilities are good, only the windows are very dirty.

We booked this hotel because it had a pool, despite it being far from Berlin centre. When we arrived, we were told by reception that the pool was out of use for 4 months. No one notified us, and it was still being advertised with a pool. We got to the room and there was dried bogies on the wall and then to add insult to injury, we stayed for 3 nights and the room was not cleaned once. We returned on day 3 to a 'Do not disturb' sign on the door by the cleaner. I've never seen anything like this before and the reception staff didn't seem surprised or apologetic. We were then told there was no fresh towels. Basically, I paid over 500 for 3 nights in a hotel with a pool, which actually didn't have a pool, had dried bogies up the wall and the cleaner can't be bothered to clean the room, which they're paid to do and I paid for. We contacted booking.com about the issues and they came back to us saying the hotel never bothered replying to them, which doesn't surprise us at all.

The hotel is located in Kreuzberg, a few minutes' walk from Halleschen Tor and the southern end of Friedrichstrasse in a quiet side street. What I unfortunately have to complain about is the silicone joints with clearly visible mold. Nowadays there are enough means to avoid or remove it.The room was large enough for a business stay, the bed was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was larger than standard. The shower is also very spacious.I would particularly like to highlight the service. From check in to breakfast to checkout everyone was very friendly and helpful. Everyone always had a smile on their faces. Great...and unfortunately not a given anymore these days. I'll be back :)

For the price, it's an absolute no-go (700 euros, 4 nights). Room service only every two days, moldy silicone in the bathroom, stains on the floor and walls, a hole in the sheet, the air conditioner doesn't show the temperature, the bed shifts just by lying on it, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. Unfortunately I first have to address the negatives regarding room cleaning. Housekeeping urgently needs help. There were a few things that hadn't been done when we arrived. Bathroom: towels were missing, the shower heads had not been descaled and cleaned, the black silicone edges looked unsightly. What annoyed me most was how the toilet lid looked, completely yellow underneath. With the right cleaning products and cleaning sponge it goes away, you just have to clean it once.Room: thick, fat clouds of dust on the cupboard and on the light strip, sheets had holes, mattress protector stains, the pillow was dirty from below, the air conditioning display was broken, fingerprints on the doors, the coffee machine was calcified, the window had to be repaired, the beds were not cleaned during the interim cleaning made.Staff: It was new to us that you can't just drive into the underground car park, even if you haven't reserved a parking space yet. Of course we were greeted a bit rudely at reception. In the end we got a parking space for an expensive €25 per day.Of course there are also positive things to report. We really liked the service at breakfast. The nice gentleman who was there during our stay was always friendly and tried to find a good table for us (since we were there with a child in a wheelchair).The breakfast offering was varied and it was always replenished.

The Yard hotel has a lot of potential but is poorly managed. Very bad management! The room was dirty upon arrival. Toilet lids and brushes were a disgrace! Cleaning every two days is okay, but if paper is empty it should be refilled or coffee pods. Bistro, bar, swimming pool and fitness closed, no information in advance! For me this hotel was a failure!
