Worst place ever!24-hr bar they said? yes the bar is open 24 hrs but there is no personnel to assist you or buy anything.The receptionists here are rude. If you as much as ask for assistance about your room or bring up any issue they will start being assholes and will even turn their back at you.House keeping are also lazy. They come in your room, they just throw the new towels/linen wherever - in the bed, in the chair, in the floor.THERE IS NO SECURITY! During our stay a group of young boys were making a ruckus in the hotel hallway and when one of the tenant called their attention they barged into the guys room and beat him up. After that the commotion made everyone come out in the middle of the night to see what was happening and guess what - not a single hotel staff was there to fix the situation.The rooms size are freaking small! Its the size of a twin bed + half a meter on all sides = that is what they call a room!The breakfast they offer is priced at 11 Euro and the offering is pathetic. You can get a better meal for less if you go outside and eat at Miller's bakery instead.In summary, even if you are travelling on a budget I would still not recommend this place to anyone. The only saving grace of this hotel is that it is located just outside of a train and tram station for easier commute. That's it.

I think the location is very good. Service and employees were very nice. The elevator to room building B was slightly broken - if you came from outside you couldn't push it or it didn't respond. So you had to open the stairs with access card from inside to use the elevator - technician has to correct it

There was hardly anything in the room that wasn't broken. Especially in the two bathrooms (shower, drains, toilet flush, ...). There are also always far too few staff at the counter to help with problems.The location, on the other hand, is really practical, especially for trade fairs.

Pro: Rooms simple, but mostly clean. Great location as the S-Bahn and tram station is right next door. Main station just one stop away.Con: Reception understaffed and overwhelmed at check-in. Online check-in is not possible either via the a&o app or via QR code on information boards in the reception area. Cleaning staff make noise in the hallways before 6/7 a.m. As of Oct 2024: Large construction site next door where there is a lot of construction noise from 7 a.m. onwards. Sleeping with the window open is therefore only possible until 7 a.m.

I changed rooms as the first room had only a half curtain and no towels. It was very busy at the reception so I had to wait for a long time to get another room. For these basic rooms the rates are scandalously expensive. The only advantage is that the hotel is near the Messe.

I was in this hostel three years ago and I was very disappointed. This time everything worked better, at first I got a shock. The suitcase was sent forward but wasn't accepted, but this was quickly resolved, the employee was very nice on the phone and the second delivery worked. I then wanted to check in online, entered all the data, But then I couldn't pay because it suddenly showed a lot more than what was on the booking, I was very annoyed about it.The rooms are okay for four people, it's just a little difficult to get to the storage space for luggage with the double beds. In the guest kitchen there was a toaster and a kettle missing (but I don't know if you can get them at the reception, like cutlery etc.Breakfast was good, room was quiet.In the meantime I would say I would like to come back, very nice staff

I stayed in a bunk bed. The room was nice but the USB power was broken. This is not the first time I have experienced this, the other a&o hostels as well. I hope they maintain their quality as well, not just aiming for quantity. And also the check in time is taking forever, I can use that 30min to 1h to do something useful instead of just wasted on the check in line.

Everything was great, close to the trade fair, close to the main train station, there was an S-Bahn directly in front of the hostel. Nearby restaurants and supermarkets. We were first given a key card with which we couldn't go into the house, very annoying. But otherwise everything was okay.

The hostel is in a super good location. I was there from October 2nd. - 5.10. I arrived there and was quickly assigned to a room. Booked a bed in a 6 bed room. The staff was very polite, nice and helpful, they took care of my concerns, the room was very clean, the bed linen was clean and smelled good, I slept very well. Only the sink in the bathroom was broken, but it was taken care of. There was a second sink in the room. The main train station was easy to reach. I can recommend it for a short trip. I would love to come back to the A and O Hostel Frankfurt Galluswarte

The hostel is dirty and uncomfortable. The entire building gives the impression of being in urgent need of renovation. You constantly end up in dimly lit hallways that look like a "backstage area", as if you as a guest had no business being there. The "guest kitchen" is tiny, especially considering that it is supposed to be enough for 6 floors of guests. It stinks, is dirty and there are hardly any dishes/cutlery (Edit: You have to pick up a dish box for a €20 deposit. My dishes were dirty and a cutting knife is not included. I found out about the box after two days of research).The staff is listless to unfriendly. A person who appears to be in a senior position is so unfriendly that it borders on frightening.I had to help a person in a wheelchair out of the room and into the lobby because the doors are so heavy that they cannot be used by wheelchair users. The person was basically locked in the room.

I checked in at around 23:30 and at that time only one employee is managing the desk, the bar and other things at the same time. Therefore the check-in line was very long and check-in took me around 30 minutes, although I did the online check-in process. If you check-in, please do the online check-in first to facilitate the process, a lot of people didn't and that was quite annoying. Still, the employee was very polite and tried his best.If you are a light sleeper, you should definetely pack earplugs, as there might me a lot of noise from the hallway and the patio (I was sleeping in a single room, not the group rooms).The access to the rooms is normally via two elevators, which were both (!) broken an the time, so I had to use the stairs to the fourth floor.The air in the hallways and in the room were unfortunately quite pungent. Just one of the windows was possible to be opened since the other one was also broken. You could tell that the guests are not treating the rooms well (burn holes in the curtains and on the bathroom walls). The rooms were otherwise quite nice and tidy and also quite clean, what surprised me positively.For 15 Euro (I'm not sure if I remember that well) you can park your car in the patio (there is not much parking space around the Hostel), you access it with your room card. It's not easy to find though, its a gate between two buildings at the back of the hostel without any signs.The breakfast was totally fine for the price and starts at 7.At night there is a security guard downstairs, but considering the central location in Frankfurt and the amount of people staying there, this is totally needed. I still wasn't feeling the safest as a solo traveling woman and put something in front of my door an night so I would hear someone enter, since the doors didn't have an additional closing mechanism.All in all, for the very fair price and good connection to public transport and central location, I can recommend the hostel if you are just looking for a clean place to sleep and you don't plan to stay very long or if you are traveling in a large group.

I would like to share my experience during my recent stay. Unfortunately, it was not as pleasant as I had hoped. When I first checked in, the room I was assigned to had not been cleaned properly. There were towels scattered on the bathroom floor, and the room lacked sufficient bedding.I was later moved to another room, but even there, I wasn't provided with additional covers, such as a pillowcase, despite my request. During my stay, I also developed itching, which raised concerns about the cleanliness of the available bedding.

Very dirty room. Dirty walls, handprints everywhere (window, screen, bed headboard). Bathroom hadn't been cleaned thoroughly for a long time. Not recommended!!!
