Very old furnishings and not really clean. Mold in the bathroom and stains in the carpet. Very musty smell in the hallway and room. I wouldn't recommend it for the price (around €90 per night).

I checked in for 2 days or 2 nights and of course read the reviews before I booked. I was a department head at the Hotel Nikko Düsseldorf and am familiar with hotels and can say the following: The staff at reception are very polite, the room is clean, as is the bathroom, the breakfast is good and the location is great. We are talking about a 3 star hotel which fits into the category and is located near Cologne/Bonn airport. Taxi navigation is 5.5 KM at night. Taxi costs 20.50 euros + tip. I don't hear any aircraft noise here, my room doesn't face the busy street, but there are earplugs for that. But you can't hear anything through the windows. I would book here again and am absolutely satisfied. If you expect more, you have to book 4 or 5 stars. Price/performance ratio for Cologne 120.96 euros for 2 nights including breakfast (single room) is excellent. If you don't want to spend a lot of money and are looking for good, affordable accommodation, this is the right place for you

Firm mattress, squeaky clean everything. Great German style breakfast. Location is fabulous right in front of the Rhine river with plenty of cafe's & restaurants, shopping, a library etc. in walking distance.

I cannot recommend the hotel.I have rarely experienced such a bad hotel. As soon as we checked in, we noticed that the hotel wasn't very clean. In addition, when we arrived, the receptionist was standing in front of the door smoking. The traffic noise could be heard even with the windows closed - no wonder, because the windows were leaky and didn't block out any sound. The door to the room was also broken, which made me feel unsafe.The room itself was in poor condition: dust and dirt everywhere, as if it hadn't been cleaned properly in weeks. The bathroom was also anything but clean, with traces of limescale and mold on the tiles. Absolutely unhygienic!In addition, there was no WiFi, although it was stated as available when booking - a must in this day and age. The breakfast was also a disappointment: little choice, only filter coffee and not a good quality of the products.I cannot recommend this hotel based on my personal experience.

I booked the hotel in June 2024 for 3 days in April 2025. Now unfortunately I can't go and have canceled. Here it is not possible to cancel the hotel free of charge 7 months before arrival. They have been working with my money for 3 months. That doesn't work at all. It was difficult to get a room in Cologne; based on the reviews, the hotel would not be recommended. I am very disappointed and will not book anything through Check 24 again.

I wouldn't recommend the Hotel Mariella in summer, there's no air conditioning and you can't sleep with the window open because the main road passes right under the bedroom. In addition, the street lighting makes the room bright as day.And I would only drive into the underground car park in a small car. The parking garage opposite Rewe is more suitable.The breakfast is commendable, everything you would expect is there and it is always topped up. You can't complain about that.

It is a standard otel. There were no best thing I can say. Staff is kind and helpful.There were no slippers in the hotel. Breakfast was not varied, it was a very standard breakfast.We stayed room that have a depressed.In the normally we would not stay here but our flight would late so I selected this hotel.

What a terrible night we had here.Firstly, the room is really hot and there is no way to cool the room. There is 1 window and you cannot keep it open because you are on a very busy, noisy road. That's really not possible with the window open.The room itself is fine and moderately clean.Breakfast and staff are fine.The parking garage is really very small, narrow and tight and you pay quite a lot for it.There is a good burger joint down the street that I can recommend.

Our hotel visit was between October 13th, 2023 and October 15th, 2023.Total disaster... the rooms are totally dirty and the extractor in our bathroom was completely moldy. The vent was simply brushed over and the shower is already falling apart. Since we were traveling with a baby, we asked for a kettle for baby food. The guy at reception didn't even know that there was a kettle in the rooms and couldn't provide us with a bed for the little one.The best comes last. Before we wanted to leave, we discovered that an unknown person had torn off the rear windshield wiper on our car. When we spoke to the staff they just said that the manager wasn't in the house. Where is there something like that? The car was in the hotel's underground car park where the gate had apparently been broken for 3 weeks. Why isn't something being done if it's known?An attempt was allegedly made to reach the manager, but was unsuccessful. We don't know if it's even true. We were told that the manager would contact us the next day about the damage since we also have to pay for the parking space. Unfortunately there was no response at all and no one in the hotel answered the phone. The least it would do is for the manager to get in touch... we were only given the phone number from the hotel and nothing more. Really very poor and not recommended at all.As of October 29, 2023:Two weeks have now passed and still no one has contacted us. Nobody is available either.All other reviews were responded to, except ours. This is also very strange.Maybe we should now initiate other ways to get someone to finally get in touch?!As of September 4th, 2024, ALMOST A YEAR LATER:We were given an email, but of course no one responded *surprise*. We have been stuck with the costs so far.NEVER AGAIN!

Hey, my son and I were, as I said, in Cologne again on a weekend. This time we chose the Hotel Mariella. Well, what can I say... The location, right on the Rhine, and on the main street is actually quite good... we had a room with a view of the Rhine, wonderful view... the furniture corresponds to the 70th year standard, OK...What I didn't like at all were the several stains on the carpet and the not really clean bathroom, some tiles were broken, there was hair in the bathtub and toilet... well, the room didn't look like that as in the pictures of the hotel... but it was also an advantage that it wasn't far from the tram and bus, which took you about 10-15 minutes to get to Cologne city center... oh yes, and there was a rich breakfast buffet it too, clean and modern dining room and a good selection of breakfast...so dear hotel team. Actually there could be more stars, but you still have to work on the cleaning, the nice man at the reception in the morning made the three stars and the ladies at breakfast...

Functional and clean. Nice service and rich breakfast and loving decoration. However, the rooms are very stuffy and noisy. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and sleeping was a challenge in mid-summer temperatures. Unfortunately, the parking garage is also a challenge, as it is quite narrow and small, but cheap. Unfortunately, the motto is: whoever comes first gets in... and if you're late, you have to check as a parking space is not guaranteed. But the location of the hotel is unbeatable, with good AB connections and a wonderful location directly on the Rhine. For a short business trip, it was wonderful to be able to end the day on the Rhine, with plenty of restaurants nearby and the opportunity to enjoy the sunset on the Rhine.

Functional and clean. Nice service and rich breakfast. However, the rooms are very stuffy and noisy. The noise from the main street right next to it makes it impossible to open the window at night. And even with the window closed, the traffic can still be clearly heard. Unfortunately there are no soundproof windows and no air conditioning. We were only there two nights. I don't want to stay there any longer.

We booked a standard room for one night.There were other pictures of the room we got on the website as well as on Check24.Room 705 was on the ground floor and as a couple we had 2 single beds, which shocked us because it was pictured differently.It was extremely warm in the room so we had to open the window, one of 2 windows couldn't be opened at all.Unfortunately we had to realize that the volume in this room was unbearable and we couldn't get any peace.Upon request, the nice gentleman at reception gave us another room number 409The room was really nice as we saw it online.It was quiet and clean. The shower is unfortunately still old but serves its purpose😉The window was stuck and difficult to open.The 705 room was a disaster but the 409 was perfectly fine.Thanks to the nice gentleman who let us into the other room.
