The hotel is not very far from the main train station…A very polite man at the reception, we didn’t know the language and he told us everything.Old rooms, it was not comfortable...The neighbors were very noisy or the walls were thin, we still didn’t understand...

We booked this hotel because my friend's mother wanted it. For the 2 nights we stayed in Cologne, the hotel was a good 50 percent cheaper than what I first wanted to book. My expectations weren't high after I saw the photos online, but since we didn't have much time to book in advance and we could otherwise only have stayed one night, I let myself be persuaded to do so. Check-in was problem-free. An older gentleman with a quiet voice gave us the room and explained everything to us. I just had the impression that he didn't understand us well. However, we all spoke normal German. I suspect that more Turks or Arab people book in the hotel. In any case, we got a room with 4 beds and a private bathroom. I said that I booked a room with 3 beds. He couldn't explain to us why he gave us one with 4. There were 4 of us but I explained clearly that our 4th man was staying in another hotel. He somehow said that he could sleep with us because there was a bed there. But we didn't want to end up having to pay extra for the room. I had already paid via booking.com. I paid for the 3rd bed room with bathroom for 2 nights for €168. If you divide the sum by 3 you get around €56 per person, which is certainly very cheap for today's standards so centrally in Cologne. The problem was also that credit cards are often required on other sites and Paypal was not possible as a payment or only booking without advance payment was not offered. This used to be better and easier around 2016. You can sleep in the hotel if you don't have noisy neighbors next door, but it was so stuffy and warm in the room that I took the blanket and put it on the windowsill and slept on it with the windows open. I couldn't use the bed until the early hours of the morning. Once something crawled on my leg. I don't know what it was, I searched everywhere but luckily I couldn't find any bed bugs. I still didn't feel comfortable. Would only recommend this hotel if there is no other option so that you can sleep somewhere at all.

This is not a hotel. This is a Hostel. The only good thing is the location. Right in the center. That's all about the good stuff. The interior is all old, like in a cheap hostel. I didn’t dare wash myself in the bathroom. The pillows are wooden. And the walls are very thin. It is unlikely that you will be able to get enough sleep. The price is at least 2 times higher. Maximum €30 per person, and only because of the location. If you have the opportunity to choose something more comfortable, then spend it on another hotel.
