We stopped to spend the night in the horse trough on a bike tour and were warmly welcomed. We really liked it and we can highly recommend it.

The horse trough is definitely the best place to stay overnight in this area! The rooms are large, clean and very nicely decorated. You sleep in a well-kept, quiet house. The hosts try hard to make you feel comfortable. Requests are taken into account at breakfast. Price performance ratio is very good. I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

A nice rural 'bed and breakfast'. Very friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. You will need to speak German or use Google translate! Rooms were spacious with a large comfortable bed and good ensuite facilities. WiFi good enough for work use.

I have been a guest at the horse trough for decades. Extremely friendly and warm hosts, rich breakfast with regional products (sausage from home slaughtering, great jams, our own apple juice) and very well-kept and constantly modernized rooms. If you can give a maximum of 5 stars, the horse trough deserves 6 or more.

The Landhotel zur Pferdetränke is a very, very nice family business in Schleid, Thuringia. The Herrlich family is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had a lot to choose from and nothing was missing. They always asked if anything else was needed and if there was enough coffee left, if not I would bring them more coffee. The barn has been beautifully converted for all kinds of celebrations and can accommodate many guests.We can only recommend it and it's worth a visit.

Rooms spacious, comfortably furnished, clean and quiet. Friendly owners, the former farm has been beautifully renovated and is also ideal for children. Breakfast buffet varied and high quality. The only disadvantage: there is no restaurant on site, which means you have to drive a few kilometers to Geisa (but we knew that beforehand).
